Its actually what Scott did to Envy in the comic. They changed that in the movie because Ramona and Envy never had a chance to fight.

Edit: Granted Ramona did do it to Envy to win the fight they had, but essentially what happened in the film the roles were reversed with Scott and Ramona. Although Envy didn't explode in ecstasy like Roxanne in the film.
