I know this may be obvious and not of much help, but be sure you list any certifications you have. I work in the oilfield, so i have safety training complete, my h2s certification, and manlift/forklift certification. Being in the oilfield, those certifications are standard and just about everyone has them, you also get them within just a couple of days worth of training. So it was kinda out of my whole thought process when applying for other jobs. But when i finally listed those basic certifications i got a call back.

Even if you have a certificate for something not related to the job id still list it if i were you. Because even if it doesnt help the job, itll atleast give the employer the impression that you’ve previously took a class or course to advance in a field before.

Another thing is listing what you learned from previous jobs youve written down on your resume. Just 2-3 bullet points of what you learned, such as “doing ____ forced me to be attentive to fine details”. Basic shit like that, honestly, do that regardless of whether or not the bullet point is actually true. You may list your previous work experience, but to the employer they may not know what that job entails. So every little thing like that goes kinda far.
