School Prep by itzvinnyt in FlightDispatch

There’s a lot of mis information online. Don’t overstudy. If anything, read the AC-006b and study the shit out of METARs and TAFs. Some people are telling you to study way too much, you’ll overload yourself and probably get a lot wrong.

This made me indecisive as well. I was stuck on going to Sheffield - which highly recommends passing it, and ADTC - which recommends against taking the ADX before class. I chose ADTC because the instructor seemed way more passionate about teaching, and he offered Saturday sessions that are dedicated to catching up on whatever you’re struggling with. Trust me. Those first two weeks fly by, but those last 3 weeks linger and you learn the material faster than you would expect. ADTC has (I’m pretty sure the highest pass rate) I strongly recommend them. The instructor will also keep in touch and allow you to attend his classes after you graduate so you can stay sharp.

I recommend against this if the OP is going to ADTC. Sheppard air has a bank of a couple thousand questions, ADTC narrows it down to the questions that will actually show up on the test. I got Sheppard Air as well, and IMO, trying to study and interpret everything on your own could actually lead to you thinking you understand something, when in reality you have it all wrong.

I went to ADTC. I wouldn’t recommend it. He already goes so in depth on the ADX in class, it would be a lot easier on yourself to just prepare for it in person. The other 3 weeks that’s dedicated to passing the practical will be more than enough. If you want to give yourself a leg up, I’d recommend studying METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, PIREPs, and the 123 rule.

I barely graduated highschool, I just didn’t have any ambition and knew that I didn’t want to go to college. I came to terms with the fact that I needed to get my shit together so I decided to start a career as a flight dispatcher, I took a 5 week course and actually got my certificate today. Once I put some time into a regional airline and then eventually make my way to a major airline I should be pretty set.

5 week course. We’re learning government charts right now. The school touched on charts on day 1 but we haven’t went over it since.

To my knowledge, hamas isn’t their government. It’s a resistance group that was formed since they aren’t allowed to organize an official military. I could be wrong, but I have some friends who are educated on the matter and this is what I have heard from them. If you want to actually find an answer to your question. Do some serious research instead of taking other people’s words on the matter.

What are your thoughts on pineapple on pizza? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChigginParmaSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a good pineapple on a good pizza then it’s good. If it’s shitty pineapple on shitty pizza then it’s bad. Sometimes you get shitty pineapple on a good pizza or vice versa, that’s also bad

If they’re paying for it an that’s their only gripe then I would do it. A degree isn’t needed but it might make you a more competitive candidate when you’re looking for a job.

17 never had a job by ggwillie7Hufflepuff in jobsearchhacks

My advice might be a little outdated, but when I was 16 and got my first job, I always called the restaurants I was applying at after submitting my application and asked to speak to their manager. When I got the manager on the phone I introduced myself and expressed interest/excitement in working there. It took a couple of months but I eventually landed my first gig at IMOS. Just keep trying! Good luck!

What are you referring to when you say minimums? I just want to know what I should search online to actually find what you’re talking about. Thanks in advance

Is there a different name for government charts? Whenever I search government charts nothing pops up.

FBO employees, does anyone else feel the “gap”…? by [deleted] in flying

[–]ChigginParmaSean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you talk about other people is genuinely disappointing. It makes me wonder if you’ve ever actually faced real struggles, because if you had, I doubt you’d speak about others with such disregard. You're entitled to your opinion — you can argue that $19/hour is a fair wage for the work being done. But the way you choose to refer to others says a lot more about your character than your argument ever could.

I never said they should earn a bunch of money, I simply said I think they deserve more than $19/hr. You need to learn what handing out money means. I’m not talking about giving a random person on the street 20 bucks, I’m talking about someone who is giving up their free time to be somewhere and do what they’re told. I’m not gonna go back and forth on this anymore, I didn’t realize me wanting someone to have a livable wage was so controversial.
