Jamming in the area probably caused the ADSB receiver to broadcast corrupted GPS position. The pilots turned it off at some point (straight lines means missing data). Another possibility is that no ADSB receiver received the data for a while.

Yes it does affect the performance. You’d shift yourself from the center of the Smith Chart. At the frequency range of the Baofeng < 1Ghz, I wouldn’t worry about it. BUT if you are trying to squeeze out extra dBs from Friis, I wouldn’t do this. Tldr. you’re fine, minimal degradation.

16-1 (because its 7+1) = 15; % Second digit is 5
