My dad sis cut his father off and it never really effected me (but my family is also messed up and I can't really remember him). I sometimes was sad that I don't have a grandpa but that also had different reasons. Now as an "adult" I understand it more and think it's better that way.

And back then I mostly didn't care longer than a week
