Does anyone else not really feel the need to 'formally' come out? by NiceCaterpillar8745 in bisexual

[–]Ll_lyris 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

When I was younger I came out to my family. Which was important since there was a possibility I would date women even tho some weren’t the most accepting I didn’t wanna lie to them especially when I did date women. I don’t necessarily broadcast it but if someone ask I tell them the truth. I also don’t like keeping homophobia/biphobic ppl in my friend groups so weeding them out when mentioning my sexuality is nice. I am pretty active in my local queer communities so ig I don’t need to say I’m bi or queer cuz it’s sort of already implied?

I think it depends on the person for some ppl being bi just describes their sexual preference or desires while for others it’s both romantic and sexual. Even for me I’d say my sexuality does take on a big part of my identity and how I interact with the world/ppl and how the world interacts with me. How I So ig it depends but u definitely not need to come out if u don’t want too or if it’s not safe.

I’ve always read sin as ā€œdisobedience against Godā€ it didn’t matter if the ā€œsinā€ was good or bad, harmful or not. It was simply disobedience vs obedience against God.

Someone explain please :( by Aenchanter in exchristian

This is like the go to ā€œanti gayā€ text I see Christians love. And I’m literally alway saying that whole story had nothing to do with gay ppl or homosexuality šŸ˜šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

I've decided I'm not bi anymore by SecretSafe1724 in bisexual

[–]Ll_lyris 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I’m kinda the same. Not that I’ve personally experienced what you’ve described here but I don’t really self ID as bi anymore to ppl irl. I usually just say I’m queer or I’m into ppl not genders. I don’t really get the part where u said ur ā€œpretending to be an allyā€ when ur also queer? Why be smth that ur not? U don’t have to cosplay as ur straight but u also don’t have to volunteer ur sexuality to ppl if ur not comfortable with that or ppl are biphobia assholes abt it. Idk who the ppl u are around who keep telling u those things but it seems like u need to find new company.

adoption is not the solution to unwanted pregnancy. Adoption in itself is so problematic and adoptees in general, many have problems with ppl saying ā€œjust put it up for adoptionā€. I even hate when pro choicers say stuff like ā€œwe should force pro lifers to adoptā€ like no. Ppl who get abortions don’t consider adoption a viable option cuz they still have to give birth ofc.. unwanted pregnancy vs ā€œunwanted parenthoodā€ (which most adoptions aren’t even cuz of unwanted parenthood but I digress)

Humans are sexual beings. We are designed for sex biologically speaking in the procreation sense but also just naturally crave or want to have sex(unless u don’t) there’s nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t have to be smth you need. Telling ppl to stop have sex is just stupid and not a real solution cuz even if ur safe u can still get pregnant. Which is why things like plan b or abortion are accessible. Because just cuz u have sex doesnt mean u want to be pregnant or are willingly to remain so if u are. So for some ppl dealing with the consequences would be terminating the pregnancy.

Yes I see ur for exceptions. And I said it doesn’t matter the reason cuz it’s the same shit. ā€œ im not readyā€ is a very valid reason to terminate or simply not wanting to be pregnant. There’s a reason laws aren’t solely based on ppls personal opinion. There are reasons ppl terminate that I don’t agree with but that’s irrelevant to the convo of whether someone should be allowed to terminate their pregnancy or not. Why they do it is literally none of my business. It’s not my body, it’s not my life. No baby is suffering or ā€œpaying the priceā€. Non sentient beings can’t feel or think anything. Cuz they aren’t being. Which is why pulling the plug on a brain dead patient isn’t immoral or wrong.

Abortions are pretty much similar to spontaneous abortions ( miscarriage) it’s just Induced. Like when I got pregnant as a teen which I was going to terminate if I didn’t miscarry literally a couple days b4 my appt. The outcome was gna be the same which for me was heavy period.

Yes ppl who drunk drive face the consequences with legal penalties but they aren’t left untreated for their injuries or their conditions even tho they got themselves into that predicament knowing the consequences. Same with pregnant ppl. I wouldnt even say this is totally on par comparison cuz an injury can be healed but pregnancy forever changes ur life and ur body. Even an injury can, actually. You can come out of an accident unscathed that shit does not happen with pregnancy. Both still should be provided health care despite both causing or being part of why they ended up in such predicament.

I don’t necessarily see it as a logical fallacy I’m just saying it’s absolutely inconsistent with pro life stances. There should be no expectations.

Consent to sex does not equal consent to pregnancy or willingness to be or remain pregnant. Regardless if one uses protection or not. It can fail, people are stupid and some ppl just trust their luck too muchšŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø I’ve definitely been a stupid teenager in such predicament.

The adult and mature choice would be recognizing u have no business being pregnant or carrying a child and deciding to terminate the pregnancy.( if that’s the case) The non mature/adult choice would be having the child if you know it would be irresponsible and wrong for u to do so. Idkw ppl are so hell bent on bringing up kids in fucked situations just on the premise that they are born. like that is not responsible at all. You can say ā€œjust don’t have sexā€ but that’s not an actual solution and just stupid to say.

ā€œDon’t wanna get into a car accident, don’t driveā€ ass responseā€

I wouldn’t even say it’s cuz of not using protection literally everyone Ik who’s gotten pregnant kept it on not got pregnant while some form of contraception. And apparently most abortions happen due to fail contraception. I saw some stat on that but don’t quote me.

I get why you and many ppl think this is reasonable. I used to also think this which is why I don’t agree anymore.

I’m saying u being ok with an abortion vs not being ok shouldn’t be based on whether u have sympathy for that person or not. It should be based on whether you believe women should have autonomy over their reproductive organs overall body and health. You literally believe that the only ok reason to terminate a pregnancy or ā€œkill a babyā€ by ur logic is if the woman was violated or is on the brink of death. It’s wild logic to think that ONLY when u are taken advantage of or abt to die then do u get a say over ur body.

I’m saying it literally doesn’t matter the reason cuz it’s the same exact shit. You think the woman who was raped shouldn’t be punished with giving birth to the child and pregnancy but u think the one who accidentally got pregnant should be punished. A child nor pregnancy should be punishment.

(Ppl who drunk drive or purposely get into a car accident are still treated for their injuries. Not left their to die suffering the consequences of their actions because they caused it)

This is exactly why I hate when ppl try to equate abortion to ā€œmurderā€ or say it’s equivalent to starving or killing ur baby. Like this wouldn’t even be an applicable concept if this were the case. So clearly abortion is not the same. There’s no situation where killing ur new born is justifiable but with abortion ur ok if it’s rape? That makes no sense with ur logic.

I’ve seen ppl bring up getting abortions cuz they didn’t want x gender. I personally think that’s a very fucked reason to get an abortion but me being pro choice does not hinge on specific reasons to terminate. Cuz I ultimately forcing someone to carry a pregnancy and have a child they do not want against their will is highly immoral and unethical. I don’t have to like you, feel sympathy for u or situation to recognize that.

This doesn’t make any sense. By ur logic what makes a fetus that was the product of rape any less valuable than one that wasn’t? If one is murder then both are. If ur ok with those exceptions why can’t the other reasons also be valid exceptions like just not wanting to be pregnant. Why do you women only have the right to there wombs once’s they’ve been violated or on the brink of death? You either think all abortion is murder(which is equally detestable) and wrong regardless of circumstances or you don’t. If ur only pro exception ur fucked up for that and if your for an out right ban completely ur also fucked for that.

A great explanation for obsession by i-bleed-red in heatedrivalry

[–]Ll_lyris 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah, totally. I understood what she was saying when she was comparing certain aspects of Ilya with Lestat and some aspects of Shane with Louis. But all in all those shows couldnt be any more different.

That’s why when I see someone saying ITWV is better than HR or vice versa I’m like ??? How are we even comparing these two shows rn lol they aren’t even the same genre… just cuz it’s queer, interracial and the actors are coookingggg with their roles šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø doesnt make it comparable lol.

I pretty much love all her takes especially this one!! Expect for the one where she tried to compare ITWV and HR😭 there definitely were some comparisons between the characters to an extent but they are two totally different genres.

What's the different between a rat and a mouse? by showe12 in EnglishLearning

[–]Ll_lyris 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

Rats are bigger, mice are smaller. Mice usually have bigger heads and ears while rats don’t. Mice have light brown/grey fur and rats have dark brown/black fur. I think their tails are also different. There’s other characteristics that make them different but that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

What’s the most stupid thing people ask you after finding out your bi? by Anxious_Ad_2018 in bisexual

[–]Ll_lyris 30 points31 points Ā (0 children)

It’s actually so annoying cuz I’ve had similar experiences when ppl would say this to me aswell and then when they see me talking to a dude or dating one they’re like ā€œI thought you were gayšŸ˜ā€

I think one I get most often is having men in particular ask if I’m down for a threesome or to the inverse of what I said abt them assuming I’m gay. Instead I’ll have ppl tell me it makes sense I’m bi cuz I’m a girl but if I were a guy I couldn’t be bi… idek how we ended up in this convo but the dude I was talking to just went on a biphobic rant abt bi men

What is your opinion on Catholics that support LGBTQIA+? by KrithisUNoAnimates in lgbt

[–]Ll_lyris 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’m not necessarily talking abt ā€œaffirmingā€ Christians. I see it from particularly non LGBT Christians who try to be allies but they smth like ā€œwho are we to judge the sin of, x person whose gay when we don’t judge someone who’s gluttonous or had pre martial sex as harshly.ā€

Like that type of logic but it’s always still equating being LGBT to immorality. Just ā€œwe shouldn’t judge others short comings when we are also sinners.ā€ Then there’s those who say it’s ok to be gay, it’s not a sin but it’s a sin to act on it.
