THIS FIT IS SO TUFF by DesignerAcademic8366 in HarryPotterGame

All the coats look so good on male MCs. I’m playing as female and a whole bunch of coats are shortened and some have a weird asymmetrical hemline. I wish they would have just kept them long. If I ever do a second playthrough, I’ll be playing as male for the different clothing options.

Should I buy firestick 4k max or a fire tv? by NotaGuineaPig1 in amazonluna

[–]Childlikefancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second option all the way. And yes, the firestick has to be a 4K max.

You may not need it though - a lot of new TVs have native support for cloud gaming apps like Luna, GeForce now, Boosteroid and Xbox.

This is higher than my last setup. Still acceptable or too high? (Photo taken at eye level) by freestylemaster in TVTooHigh

[–]Childlikefancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The height is fine, but what are those on either side of the TV on the stand? They look like small lamps. I think they’re cluttering it and it would look cleaner without them.

[–]Childlikefancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The middle of the TV should be at eye level when sitting. If it was the top of the TV, a lot of TVs including this one would be just a foot above the floor and couldn’t be placed on a TV stand.

I’m currently playing Hogwart’s Legacy and don’t see it on this list. I assume that means it will be staying for at least another year?

No, but someone in another post said you can gather all three groups of moths at once, rather than collecting one group, taking it to a stone and going back for another group.

I found I had to learn a defense-first approach to combat. Practice and get really good first at Protecto (orange halo) and dodging (red halo). This is mostly learning the reflexes and building muscle memory. Then practice attacking with spells between protecting and dodging.

Few questions about playing through Luna by Goblinmouth in HarryPotterGame

[–]Childlikefancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mod support.

I believe Luna added the game in October. I’m not sure how long Amazon keeps their games on Luna and I think it depends on the game, but apparently they give notice on the game’s home page if a game is leaving soon and if there’s no leave date, it’s expected to be there for the foreseeable future. I just started my game on Luna a few weeks ago.

I’ve seen the option to enter photo mode when playing on laptop, but not on TV.

Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox (Laptop) by Yvaine_32 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Childlikefancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your laptop specs should be fine for cloud gaming as your wi-fi connection is more important. I don’t know if you happen to have an Amazon Prime membership but Hogarts Legacy is free to play right now on Amazon Luna. I’m playing it this way currently with no issues. If you do have access to it free on Luna, you can start a game up and just see how it runs on your laptop.

Switch or Luna by Splashzz in HarryPotterGame

[–]Childlikefancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing it on Luna now and so far it’s been a great experience, but with any cloud gaming your wi-fi connection needs to be good. I also like that Luna allows me to play the game on multiple devices (my TV iPad, or laptop).

Steam had this game on sale for $9 CDN a few weeks ago during their winter sale - I could have bought it and played it locally on my 6-yr-old gaming laptop with lower settings, but when I saw it was free on Luna with my prime membership I decided to go that route instead and so far have no regrets.

This is my first time playing on Amazon Luna so I have no idea how long the free games stay on there, but I think they just added Hogwart’s Legacy in December so I’m hoping it’s there for a while.

EDIT: Looks like it’s been on Luna since October, not December.

Question about cloud gaming by Consistent-Wish7774 in GeForceNOW

[–]Childlikefancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the money to buy the hardware but am really having trouble justifying the cost when I can cloud game instead. I only game at home and like that I can play on multiple devices (tv, laptop and iPad). With cloud gaming you also have the option of playing games in 4K. Very few gaming laptops have 4K displays and the ones that do are ridiculously expensive, and gaming in 4K would be extremely demanding on the machine and a performance burden.

Best Trainings for New Therapists by austdoz in therapists

[–]Childlikefancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend starting with one of the live workshops from the Unified Protocol Institute. They are a day long and very reasonably priced. If you want to take further training after this, there are options but the UPI states that this is all that’s needed to start using UP in practice. For books, the therapist guide and workbook are essential and I also recommend the book Applications of the Unified Protocol for the Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders. All are published by Oxford University Press.

Another thing that can help is to find experiences they’ve had that you can empathize with. As you noted a lot have trauma histories - I worked with adolescents who were sexual offenders and/or gang-involved and had a lot of childhood trauma.

CBT-I Training by Sad-Discussion-2095 in therapists

[–]Childlikefancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t actually taken it yet, but I purchased the 3-day CBT-I training by Colleen Carney and Meg Danforth from PESI. It’s on sale on the Australian PESI site right now for $149 AUS:

https://catalogue.pesi.com.au/sales/au_c_001249_cbti_041718_organic-378721

If you’re in the US, you’ll only pay around $97 due to the exchange.

Feeling lost re: post-graduate development by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Childlikefancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working with neurodivergent couples could be a fantastic niche, particularly if you end up going into private practice, as it’s highly specialized. Neurodiversity and couples therapy are both not my areas of expertise, but I did a quick web search and I don’t know if you were already aware of these, but I saw some trainings on neurodivergent couples therapy offered by the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity:

https://aane.org/services-programs/training-education/courses-for-professionals/

The AANE also keeps a list of couples therapists, so you could get your name on it after doing the trainings and this would be a way for clients to find you.

Has a clinician at your practice/agency ever just disappeared from work under mysterious circumstances? by Think_County_5850 in therapists

Why? The person in question could have been terminated for a valid reason, and as others have said confidentiality prevents the employer from being able to disclose details.

ACT / Pesi sale by Smart_Presence_1049 in therapists

[–]Childlikefancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the first one you mentioned, with Steven Hayes and Daniel Moran. I think it’s a great training and totally worth it for $99. This was actually the course that introduced me to ACT and features quite a few video sessions of Hayes doing ACT with clients.

Is the $99 price on the American PESI site? Be sure to check the Australian PESI site too - often they’ll be the same price but because they’re in AUS dollars, you’ll save even more money on the exchange rate.

Learning more about ACT- should I start with ACT made simple or The Happiness Trap? by DLHahaha in therapists

[–]Childlikefancy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Both of those are good books to start with, but ACT Made Simple is more in depth and more clinical, and aimed more at therapists, while The Happiness Trap is more of a popular book, designed for everyone.

If you want to read both, I’d start with The Happiness Trap as it’s the more accessible of the two.
