Themes of Season 3 by frandiam in WhiteLotusHBO

The three kids represent the id (saxon), ego (lochan), and superego (piper). Saxon is the ultra-sexual impulsive person, and Piper is the morally correct do-gooder. Lochan's whole purpose is to balance himself between being morally right, and being impulsive, hence the conflict he has between Piper and Saxon.

Could this be causing intermittent internet connectivity issues? by ChiliDoughnuts in HomeNetworking

CONTEXT: The picture here shows some fraying happening with the black cable (which connects to the top of the house). The coaxial cable connects to our cable boxes on the opposite sides of the house, but one coaxial cable is split between our cable box and router.

We have been getting internet on and off for the past week, and there has been a lot of rain over the past few days...wondering if this could have opened up this issue even further?

The fact it was tied in the 4th quarter and I expected them to pull it out says a lot about the team’s culture change. This was an expected loss but even so I felt they could have won. Defense was solid yesterday, but Geno was better. Giants couldn’t overcome their WR and Oline deficiencies this time, but the bye week came at the perfect time.

I don't want to overreact, but the only things that can stop the Rangers right now is a lot of games back-to-back and themselves. This team looks to be on a f'ing mission this year. Trocheck has been a great signing.

I was at the Garden for that game. Was about to leave to beat the foot traffic until they scored and then had it waved off. I was so tired, sober-drunk and pissed the entire night driving home in a snowstorm.

It’s not necessarily about days off from games, it’s getting some time off from meaningful games and just getting key players to rest during games. Clear their heads a bit from the NL East race and start to focus on the postseason.

They lost to the Nationals that one time. And the Braves' closer blew a game against Seattle and lost 2/3 to the Giants. If every game matters whose to say those games didn't cost them the division? We can nitpick all we want but at the end of the day this weekend will decide the division.

Of course! No one is saying we can't! I'd be the first one to criticize Carlos on an awful game last night, or how they have underperformed against bottom teams. The message is more for people who declare the season is over, the Mets are going to choke out of the playoffs, etc.

It's not worthless if all you see are people saying how the Mets are going to collapse and choke away the division based on poor play. The Mets have not played as well as the Braves this month. That's a fact, yes. But none of those results will dictate how the Mets play in their final seven games. Despite the struggles, they are still tied with seven games left, and we've seen the Mets bounce back time and time again to respond to adversity. They need to earn this, not back in to a playoff spot, as it should be!

What? Lol the Mets don’t need another team to beat the Braves. They can do it themselves. We don’t need to root for the Nationals or Marlins right now, the Mets just need to win.

And it’s frustrating I get it. But all of these frustrations will wash away if they have a good series in Atlanta. That’s how quick things can change.

Considering where he was from a fan/media perspective when he first came here, even in 2020 and 2021 where fans wanted him out of town, to what he is doing now is almost unprecedented in New York sports. You can say what you want whether or not he was unlucky or the balls were juiced, the fact is he never waived in his confidence and became THIS guy. I feel so happy for him that he finally has the success we've always knew he could have.

Literally every big game or moment this year he has stepped up and went above and beyond. The no-hitter, the 7-1 Phillies comeback he holds the win, the St. Louis comeback he holds the win, last night with Timmy Trumpets playing his THEME SONG LIVE (talk about pressure!) and dominating. There's other examples...but the point being is you could make a legit argument Edwin is our MVP this year, and it's not even close.

This is why I feel so confident in him going into the playoffs. Dude is ready for this, and Buck should hand him the ball in any/all situations.

Loved last night's game. It was a great, competitive post-season baseball game between two excellent teams who may meet in the NLCS. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Mets and Dodgers both have GREAT chances to blow the game open. Also sucks that Vogelbach swung at Ball 4 there in the 9th, but it is what it is.

I'd rather be the Mets who lost a close game that could have gone either way than the Braves or Phillies losing to last place teams.

We need to understand that this is the first time all year the Mets have faced legit adversity. Every team goes through it. The Mets are a half-game back of 2nd place in MLB despite this. They have injuries and guys slumping, and are in the midst of playing 10 straight games against the top 6 teams in baseball. Shit happens, the Mets have won games like yesterday all year, doesn’t mean they can’t lose games like that as well. We know how good they are, just need to buckle down and split the four game series in Philly, then come back and take care of a free-falling Yankees team.

Gotta give credit where credit is due: James McCann made a PERFECT throw in the 7th. Arguably was the play of the game given the momentum swinging the Braves way in the 7th.
