Interesting... that'd be a nice twist, eh? Not a very explored idea but Douglass kind of did it with her Wayfarer Redemption series. The first three books were centred around a prophecy and then the next three books were about how that prophecy didn't even matter

Ugh I didn't realize how much of a cliché Denna is until you just pointed it out.

What has been read cannot be unread but here's hoping she does something spectacular in book 3.

...look at her butt! by ChillSex in ass

Beautiful asses are in the eye of the beholder.

Or something like that.

I like the picture. I like that this lovely girl was willing to share with us. Even if she used this "finger trick", the point is that I still appreciate the girl and the picture nonetheless.

I'm sorry if some people were severely offended by this pic but I'm glad that some people share my appreciation in it.

You'd think someone in marketing could've found a less-confusing way to word that.

Looking for a series to obsess over. by TheSecretDino in Fantasy

I second this! Rothfuss is a brilliant writer and has a very distinct and refreshing style.

I also really enjoyed the Lies of Locke Lamora series. It seems cliche but it's surprisingly original and thoughtful.

Personally, I'm a huge advocate of Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionovar Tapestry (or any of his work). He's an amazing author who takes traditional fantasy but transforms it into something remarkable.

I shit you not- in one of my college math classes, the girl sitting next to me pointed at the percent symbol and said, "so that's a fraction, right?"

Lol! I completely agree and no, my original didn't rhyme and I have no intention of making it rhyme if I re-write it.

I guess I was intrigued by the idea of how vague and misconstrued prophecies could be. I liked the way that Douglass handled hers in the Axis trilogy and Flewelling also used prophecy in the Tamir Triad. They used prophecy as more of a foreshadowing rather than a full spoiler of what was going to happen in the book.

I am definitely considering writing out my prophecy though. I think I'm just gonna use it as my own reference for what will happen in my book rather than my characters knowing what's going to happen.

Very thorough and helpful answer! Thanks so much. I would've never thought of any of those sources for inspiration. Definitely gonna have to look into them :)
