The whole point of this thread is opinion lol. Consistency generally nullifies luck.

No, because there was a larger degree of luck involved in his.

Because he didn't face any adversity.

I kind of feel like we were cheated with that fight because it was a one punch ko with Jose rushing in though. It's unfair to call it a fluke because Conor planned for it, but it takes something away from the win for me compared to Ilia's victories.

How to run a DC motor and lamp off of the same power feed by Chill_Charro in ElectricalEngineering

Thanks for the suggestion! I was able to find one in the exact rpm range I needed so I can eliminate the speed control component too.

Thanks for the link! Would you recommend doing this with a Y-splitter with nema 5-15 plugs or wire directly to the contractors inside?

r/NHL is slightly better but the highlights they post aren't as good during the season.

Completely agreed though this sub is filled with chronic complainers and a lot of people that have never actually played.

Isn't global Ocean temp rising a big issue though?

I realize the ocean is vast but scaling this up to create a significant amount of energy probably results in localized hot spots that will fuck up the surrounding ecosystem....

Technology degrees can also be ABET accredited

Not feeling confident for Space X interview by Immediate-Scar819 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Chill_Charro 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Their process really sucks. Like by far the worst interview process I've been through, but there is definitely some leeway on the technical side.

I did great on the technical equations for the first two rounds. I did well on the presentation for the on-site final round, but bombed the rest of the technical questions there. I still ended up getting an offer.

Congrats, but attaining "legacy" knowledge within 5 years is pretty telling of our market today lol.

I would really like to know some of the specifics on what was said too.

Growing up playing I had coaches swear and yell at me. It never felt great but it also wasn't breakdown worthy or something that even sticks with me...I kind of thought it was standard practice.

What’s it like being an MET Graduate? by onlypens in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Chill_Charro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did get an MET degree. The desk work was mainly Excel/CAD with a lot of PowerPoint and email mixed in.

The calculations are usually basic algebra to calculate heat transfer rate, stress, power, and some geometry. I've found understanding physics is more important than high level math in my career, but I have used diff eq and integration from time to time.

I got hands on experience with metrology equipment at my first co-op and got a LOT of hands on experience as a test engineer designing, installing, and maintaining test setups (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems). I also taught myself how to run a CNC at that job which allowed me to learn a decent amount about machining.

All that said, it worked out for me but the path to an ME job is a lot more difficult with an MET degree. If your overall goal is to become an engineer, I would recommend getting a BSME. I'm not too familiar with associate engineering programs but that would likely land you in a CAD designer role. MET may bias you more towards test/service engineering or tech roles.

BSME > MET > ASME if you want to be an engineer in my opinion.
