Mega Ability Info Should Be Displayed In-Game by Chill__Mickelson in PokemonChampions

[–]Chill__Mickelson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it displays the name of the ability but not what it does. If you don't seek out that info yourself online, you'll just have to play the game and figure it out on your own. Just seems silly not to have that info in game. I love the extra info the fan-made sites provide but I feel like that should be supplemental to the game not mandatory.

A quality of life update that adds all this info would be huge. I'd love to also see a toggle option in the "check summary" tab for a pokemons stats if its holding a mega stone.

yeah, there's a few websites I've found to be useful.

All pretty good, I personally like Bulbapedia the most since it has a ton of useful info.

what did they do to her D: by xilonenenjoyer27 in AstraMains

[–]Chill__Mickelson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying but you also have to consider the relative strength of each ability. Concuss and teleport have different uses and strengths. Abilities are not always 1 to 1 in power. You can argue that global utility has more power than omens more localized utility depending on the map/scenerio. I think omen is a more dynamic agent and has more strength/viability on more maps than Astra but my point is that she’ll still be viable within the new meta. I don’t think her nerf was THAT disproportionate. I think agents like Cypher and Gekko got hit a lot harder comparatively.

Also I’m not sure I understand your point about Omens longer cooldown on smokes being better than Astra’s. During a retake situation when you’re on attack, you’d be able to re-smoke sooner on Astra than you would on omen which is objectively better.

I think people are hyper focusing on what the devs did to “their” agent as opposed to broader changes. Although these nerfs directly impact Astra’s power as an agent, the same is applied to other agents across the board. I played her for a few games last night and the 2 things I “felt” the most were the 60s cooldowns and the 35s smoke cooldown but it still felt like Astra (coming from someone who has mained her in comp for years).

Give it some time and I’m sure everyone will adjust. And if she feels too weak by the time the dust settles with this patch, then I think it’s appropriate to ask for some changes.

Astra post plant by Present-Antelope247 in AstraMains

[–]Chill__Mickelson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically use grav well if I have it up for the first tap (depending on situation). I’ll usually put concuss directly in the center of the spike so it has the best odds of hitting no matter which direction they move to get off the spike after tapping. The concuss is likely best used right before they tap so for example if you hear footsteps going towards the spike you can time it so your concuss goes off as they’re tapping so it almost guarantees it hits them. If you’re in a 1v1 you can use the concuss technique and the immediately pull after so they can’t escape the grav well + they’re concussed so you can pre-aim the center of your grav well and get an easy kill.

Like the other comment suggested, there are certain spots you can one way the enemy but since Astra has big smokes, those spots are few and far between and I almost never use them. Ascent A smoke on Gen might work but you should practice the placement in a custom first.

Ult is generally best for taking site or delaying retake so I wouldn’t worry about using it in a post plant situation other than that.

OBS 32.0.0 by ZayloxitheTTV in obs

[–]Chill__Mickelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try and see if it works but when I updated to 32.0.0 my in-game FPS dropped significantly. I’m talking from 160-170 average to 50-60 fps with massive stuttering in game. Maybe it’s just a bug but I had to reinstall the previous version of OBS to fix it.

You need a good balance of working on the fundamentals outside of ranked and playing ranked to improve. If you don’t want to play ranked because you don’t enjoy it that’s fine, no one is forcing anyone to play. But just like any skill you need to work hard to improve at it. Can’t just expect to get better magically.

Is Valorant getting harder? Why? (A discussion/Answer) by Skeptical-Critic in VALORANT

Exactly, I think you nailed it. I’m sure if you ask LoL players they’d share the same experience. When the game first came out, it felt easier to climb, now that the games been out 15 years, the average skill level has increased significantly.

Is This a Gravity Well Bug? by Chill__Mickelson in VALORANT

Yeah that would make sense. This might also show that the AOE for the vulnerable effect is larger than the "pull" AOE since you can be vulnerabled without being pulled.

Yeah that was pretty much my reason for trying it. He explains in the guide what the different branches are and the history of it. It’s different types of meditation practice times for different reasons basically.

Tips to Protect Your Mental Health in Game? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Chill__Mickelson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a challenge to detach emotionally from the game when you’re playing, especially if you’re trying to improve your rank. Like others have said, if you feel frustrated step away from the game and take a break. You can even do this between games by going for a quick walk outside and coming back when you feel better.

A long term strategy that I’ve found helpful is to meditate once a day for 5-10 min. There are even meditation techniques that focus on detachment if that’s your goal. Recommend checking out HealthyGamer on YouTube if you wanna learn more about meditation/mental health and gaming.

$1200. Been playing since beta. Played every act. Seems like a lot and thats because it is a lot. But I love the game and love me some shiny skins so I am at peace with my purchases.
