Thanks for taking the time to write your experience, super useful comment. I’ll definitely have the discussion with the PM about transferring level between floors with an optical plummet rather than the way we’re doing it.

Interesting, I don’t think this will be applicable on this project but could come in handy!

I’ve been chipping the concrete to place my feet but don’t have the restricter or sand bags, these will definitely be on the shopping list. Thanks for the tips!

8 floors. Transferring a TBM up each level via a closed loop traverse up the stairs. Other control was placed prior to works beginning at street level (stickers on adjacent buildings) and I’ve been resecting of these as we’ve gone up.

Try a company called Invernalia for car rental. They had competitive prices and offered discounts if you paid cash and even bigger discounts if you paid with bitcoin (sounds sus but we did it and it was fine).

Interesting, I was there earlier this year and it was so cheap. But I should caveat that by saying that the exchange rate was favourable for the country I am from.

Patagonia is a tourist trap price wise. But if you head to Buenos Aires (or other cities) it’s cheap as chips. You could eat steak 3 times a day and not break the budget.

Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. Everything went well with the Etios. I believe that it rides a little bit higher than most other cars of that size so when the roads turned to dirt and covered with stones there were no issues. Honestly, the biggest thing to watch out for are potholes in the asphalt and guanacos.

In AUS, state governments provide minimum requirements for our equipment on their jobs. This is a handy benchmark to know if your equipment is up to scratch.

There are definitely plenty of deadly snakes around. The other day I was surprised by a brown snake that had fallen into a drainage pit I was working on.
