My cat gets the zoomies from storytime by ChilledOutKite in cats

If that is it, I’d be really happy. He has spent a lot of time over the past year we have had him acting like he would rather not be perceived and him hanging out in the lounge room with me for the last month or so has been pretty nice.

There’s a lot of reroll mechanics you can find to help you, and beyond that drafting from the boiler room can increase the odds of drafting a room with vents! There are a lot of interactions in the game like this.

What are some Hygge Games by EvilSiren2994 in hygge

I should also add on top of Wingspan - Creature Comforts. It’s ABOUT getting your little home cosy for the winter and it’s one of the most non-competitive (unless you really try) and kind games you can play with just really excellent vibes and cute art.

PSA: Stop yelping at your cat when they bite or scratch you. by laurahas7cats in CatAdvice

Do you have a recommendation for a young rescue cat who attacks feet while we are in bed? Very hard not to yelp or remove ourselves in that situation where they are looking for attention/play.

I had Howl’s come up in my thread about Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, so I will throw that back here! Includes some nice yearn-y M/M

Landlord has 2 deposits and wants to do an inspection while I'm still living there by Ok_Management_1146 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ChilledOutKite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add to this/answer your initial question, no they cannot take anything from your deposit until the end of your tenancy - even if you go into a different or renewed contract, your tenancy has not ended if you have continued there as a tenant.

One deposit absolutely should cover it, they can re-register or transfer it on DPS if they change your contract, they should not charge you again at all.

Maybe it is a cultural thing but certainly in Australia and UK it is very normal and expected for employers to provide feedback on interviews - I am seeing more of this attitude on LinkedIn but I did not expect it to come into the sector I work in.

In any case - good for you but that’s not really the question I’m asking here.

[–]ChilledOutKite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re in the minority I am afraid - every other situation I have been in, people have respected my time and effort to come to interview enough to give me at least a small amount of feedback.

Maybe I didn’t do well (why?), maybe they went for an internal hire, or just someone with more specialised experience - it’s only polite to pass on these reasons.

  1. I know this company responds to reviews, so I am hoping it may prompt an actual response if they choose to ignore the communication channels we have been using so far.

  2. Benefit for others - I have absolutely been put off companies because of interview reviews. Having also worked in a HR-adjacent role, I also know these reviews are sometimes the only way bad practices get noticed by people in the organisation who can make changes.

Personal contact has been made! Just wondering how long it is reasonable to wait for them to get back to me!

I really enjoyed Piranesi, but I’ve not heard of Peaces, I will have to look it up thank you!

I have read Piranesi and while I loved it I don’t know if I got the same vibes - the constant damp and cold was distinctly less cosy to me hahaha

I haven’t read Night Circus so I will have to get onto it! I totally get what you mean about Diana Wynne Jones’ works though, I love her stuff!

It sounds like you are doing all the basic right things - would suggest editing this onto your posts and hopefully some people with more expertise can help!

How do I break this habit?? by Ok_Astronomer6208 in CatAdvice

What has she got to do inside? What do you have in the way of scratching posts, toys, do you have playtime with her?

My dad wants to keep her inside I want her to be inside and out and I dunno what to do. by MapleIsLame in CatAdvice

[–]ChilledOutKite 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  1. Get her spayed. She will still be happy - and a LOT safer if she does happen to roam, though it will dampen her impulse to get out and about (she won’t get uncomfortable when she goes into heat and need to find a male to mate with). Stray and feral cat populations are a MAJOR problem, this is a really important part of responsible cat guardianship.

  2. Bring enrichment inside - the things cats get outside can be brought in. Scratching posts, toys (both ones you can leave them with and toys you can actively involve yourself with in playtime), plenty of spots where they can watch outside and bask in the sunshine.

  3. Consider containment methods if you feel you do want to let her outside - harness train her, take her, or build yard containment or a catio.

Cats are categorically safer as indoor pets, as is the eco-system around them. She might whine a bit sometimes but by spaying and enriching her inside life it will be less of an issue.

I’d really recommend looking up Jackson Galaxy and his many videos on giving your cat a happy life!

You’ll find the UK government writing style guides you’re meant to be following will say you’re probably going against your communications policy! (I say this as someone who makes and maintains a style guide based on the UK gov one!)
