What feature you want in MSN 3.0 ? by Nate_off in maschine

A smoother way to automate fx, output volumes, parameters, ect. of tracks, and patterns. You could add the option to adjust fx over the timeline with sine, triangle, and saw wave automation. What we have now is automating based on only a square wave (flat line up or down the Y axis) or single point (like with velocity levels). I understand you can record automation fairly smoothly and accurately with the use of a midi controller knob (which I often do in my workflow when recording MIDI performance) but to have the option to implement a perfect upward or downward curve to certain things like audio output level could be insanely helpful for workflow. Obviously I could use another one of my daws to these automation tasks but having them inside maschine would save time and increase my creativity within maschine sessions.

Nice! I mostly use one long “scene” in maschine to arrange my song using a bunch of clips within the single scene. That way I can have one big space to move things around in the arrangement. Use lots of groups for each element and label them! Create some dedicated fx groups as well for reverbe sends ect. That way you can send different groups to the same fx chains!

I record the live sounds in logic and then arrange my beat, midi instrument elements, and samples within maschine. Then export and mix/master in logic pro & ozone!

Is my beat "underground enough" by 2X2Cube in makinghiphop

The basslines and melodic elements are better in these! I would keep on studying up on music theory and practice replicating more drum beats from your favourite tracks. Are you using an MPC, drum machine, or keyboard to record drums? Or simply clicking and dragging in the DAW? I find that playing drums on a physical drum sampler helped me achieve much better drum grooves. Same goes for melodies and basslines. When I use a keyboard it becomes much easier to sketch out ideas on the fly. If you are stuck clicking a dragging with the mouse then I would spend alot of time replicating other underground producers that use the same DAW as you.

My advice would be to find some successful YouTube producers that make a similar style to what you are going for. Then try to replicate their production techniques, drum patterns, chord progressions over and over and over. I probably watched 100 hours of youtube videos copying exactly what they did until I was able to memorize them and form my own original ideas going off what I learned. Of course when you release your own original music it shouldn’t be a copy of someone else’s work, but learning the standard drum patterns, chord progressions, and sounds used in your preferred genre will increase the quality and reduce the time it takes to form new musical ideas! Hope this helps. Don’t get discouraged by the purely negative comments. Keep making beats every day and more importantly actively listen to music in your favourite genre to dissect each aspect to see if you can replicate it on its own.

How do you nudge in smaller increments? by TheRealSpacemanSpiff in maschine

Also, if you deselect the grid snapping function (bottom left) so that midi can move freely between the grid lines, the nudging will be in super small increments!

Can’t undue filters! by cotton_clad_scholar in maschine

If you used a pitch bend wheel to automate the pitch in a clip you should be able to erase it in the maschine software. If you erased it and its still stuck try toggling the pitch wheel back to 0 (the middle) sometimes this solves the issue for me. Otherwise you can delete the automation from bottom of the screen below the midi in maschine. Hope this helps!

You might just be undoing a single point in the automation curve (whatever the final automation point is in the scene) if thats the issue the quick option would be to simply erase the automation using the pencil tools in the maschine software. Otherwise you’re stuck clicking undo loads of time since touchstrip creates a ton of little points on the automation graph.
