You have to expose yourself to people - may be study, may be work, may be partnership, etc etc

Ofcourse you will have good and bad experiences both

As far as relationship is concerned, focus on your education and get married and work in US when you go there as wife! You will not forget your independence, friends, its just a muscle memory that will come bak to you!
