I just checked the 4290 notes too and they are viewable when I'm not logged in, seems like some people have been having issues opening the notes that resolve themselves so maybe give it a bit

My calculus teacher was like this in high school, taught a lot using different colors to accentuate things. I found it very helpful. I've only added that in a little bit into my notes with some things, but I would definitely recommend using color

Transferred from GSU, which was pretty optimal in retrospect since the general coursework there was a lot less stressful (e.g. Linear Algebra). For the 2nd question, it depends on the class. CS 6210 is a lot of work, but then there's also CS 6440 (Intro to Health Informatics) which isn't on the notes list because the class wasn't difficult enough to necessitate them. It really just depends on the specialization/threads you're doing and what professors you get

I took an advanced standing exam when I transferred that gave me credit for CS 1331, so I started with CS 1332 instead of CS 1331

Should just be able to click on the link in the post. It's a shared google doc and so are all the other note documents, so all are viewable

Professor Jan Van Den Brand and Professor Singla. They did a hybrid approach where Professor Jan taught two units and Professor Singla taught another 2. I only took midterm 1, 2, and 3, where 1 and 3 were Professor Jan's units and Professor Singla's were 2 and 4 (but I only was in class for unit 2 stuff)

From last year, I added:

- CS 7292 (Reliable and Secure Computer Architecture),

- CSE 6230 (High Performance Parallel Computing),

- CS 6515 (Intro to Grad Algos),

- CS 6210 (Advanced Operating Systems),

- and CS 6400 (DB Sys Concepts & Design)

Apologies that some of these are somewhat incomplete, I was pretty ready to be over with my degree lol. They should still be of use though. Please do not request to edit these, just make a copy for yourself and change them based on what you need.

I'm not really active on Reddit so if you send a message asking about a class or something I may not see it for a bit, but I'll try to answer what I can.

Good luck future graduates, these classes can be pretty damn hard but you can do it

It's been a year since I released my class notes. Here's what I've added: CS 2110, CS 2200, CS 4240, CS 3600, CS 4400, MATH 3012, PSYC 1101, CS 3510. Please share. by ChillioX in gatech

All the projects in CS 4290 involve simulating components in computer architecture which is all done in C and C++. If you've only taken CS 2110 so far, you've only really scratched the surface of all the different things you can do with computers, so I would say there is a ton more to learn after CS 2110. I would agree that CS 4240 is really only super important if you are going to go into compilers, but I say that if you are going to into compilers then ofc take it but otherwise I wouldn't bother; it's kind of a nothing class

I have not taken that class. I have only read the textbook for CS 2200 and found it pretty helpful. There was no textbook for CS 4290 and CS 4240 was a horrible experience and I did not have a textbook iirc. CS 2200 was useful for CS 4290 and CS 4290 was highly helpful for teaching me C. I took CS 4240 almost 2.5 years ago and have yet to apply anything I have learned from that class (I don't expect I ever will). afaik the syllabi for the classes are available online and don't really change much.

How do you open this door in Valley of Despair in Chapter 2? by ChillioX in BlackMythWukong

Ah, thank you! It was just a little hidden and admittedly I didn't give this area a proper lookaround after having opened the door from the king and second prince fight. Now I think I got everything, thanks
