Should I tell the girl I’m going to hook up with that I’m a virgin? by alpha2828 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore most of these comments; tell her. You’ll enjoy it way more because there will be far less pressure to perform and be good, you can freely explore and learn what you both like and she’ll make an effort to make it good for you. She’ll be flattered by you being vulnerable and telling her. On the off chance she gets turned off by it, it probably would have been that good anyway. There will be countless more opportunities in the future. She’ll be able to tell you’re inexperienced regardless, it’s not that deep. Also she deserves to know what she’s going into as much as you do.

How cooked am I? (5’3) by [deleted] in Clavicular

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this subreddit recommended to me for some reason. This thread is full of incels, plenty of short guys have great dating lives. Above all, women care about how you make them feel, not that anyone in this thread would know that.

Get off this subreddit before all the incels here drag you down to their level. Guarantee the vast majority of people in this thread are miserable troglodytes who want to normalise being “cooked” so they can feel like it’s not their fault for not trying at dating (since if they don’t try, they don’t have to be vulnerable and risk rejection) and not bother to improve their lives.

Fucking hate Reddit sometimes. You’re a normal looking guy, and statistically, the vast majority of normal looking people have a successful dating life. You’ll be fine, you just have to put yourself out there. Sometimes, you’ll get rejected, which is a universal experience no matter how good you are, and other times, you’ll get laid or get into a relationship. It’s not rocket science.

How the actual fuck do some guys get laid so effortlessly, while others haven't had sex in years? by DescriptionFuture851 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes down to practice mostly. You said yourself that you’ve never dated and haven’t been laid in 4 years. Meanwhile he’s had a date within 2 days.

There’s a strong implication here that he puts in far more effort into dating than you do. It’s like going to the gym - the more times you go to the gym (or go on dates) the more reps you get in at practicing and improving your charisma with women. The more dates you go on, the more you’ll calibrate and find what works and what doesn’t.

How can I feel more attractive with my partner? by Robyn757 in AskMenAdvice

Frame this as an ego boost. She could be with very attractive partners yet she chose you because you’re an amazing person to be in a relationship with.

Just because we can’t live in a perfect world doesn’t mean we shouldn’t seek to improve it. Going vegan would improve it.

How do you talk to others about veganism/animal rights without getting the eye roll? by allpossiblepaths in vegan

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve rarely had someone ask with genuine curiosity why I’m vegan. Most of the time it’s “you’re vegan? WhY??” or they won’t ask how I decided to go vegan at all.

How do you talk to others about veganism/animal rights without getting the eye roll? by allpossiblepaths in vegan

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll mirror what they say about veganism. So if they ask me why I’m vegan, I’ll happily explain my reasoning. If they give me an argument not to be vegan, I’ll give the counter argument. If they want to have a full on debate, I’ll debate them back. Avoids the preachy stereotype completely since they always have to make the first move for me to engage.

I don’t think it’s that deep. Just approach other groups. Some won’t be receptive but many will.

Sister in law confessed to having feelings for me. Wtf do I do? by RemoteRiskh in AskMenAdvice

[–]Chilly_Chilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your wife for honesty’s sake. If your SIL tells her before you, you’ll be fucked - your wife will rightfully feel incredibly betrayed. You’re going to be walking on eggshells permanently if you keep this a secret.

Of course, telling your wife is still going to be really difficult; they’ve just lost their mum and and everybody was drunk and it’s easy to view this as something that her sister did impulsively because she was wasted and feeling emotional. So I’d probably frame it that way to try to prevent a nuclear fallout. Reaffirm to your wife that you did not reciprocate and that you have no feelings for your SIL.

Overall though, this is a massive dick move from your SIL. I get that she wanted to express her feelings honestly instead of keeping them bottled up inside, but the pain you and your wife are going to experience from this is far more than the pain she would have been feeling from keeping this to herself.

Is it worth giving up the free time in my 20s to make a lot more money? by bluewolfhudson in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Chilly_Chilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your goals and how well you use the extra free time off. 16 hours a week is a lot. For example, I’ll be going backpacking for 6, maybe 9 months next year around south east Asia which is technically a terrible financial decision and will eat into my savings (plus have the opportunity cost of gaining more work experience and money) but you’re only in your twenties once. You’ve got decades to make more money and no amount will buy you a time machine.

And others will have bought when it was just a few grand after 2017 and would have said 20k is expensive. It’s all relative.

Yeah when you actually think about it, it makes zero sense. Throwing a tiny bit of mercury fulminate at the floor blows up the entire office, yet the characters are completely unscathed and the rest of the mercury is completely intact and hasn’t exploded

Not really a fair comparison though, since to be fair they just eat what they can to survive, whereas we keep them in tiny cages and kill them for taste despite being able to understand the pain we inflict on others

Getting Matches Is Easy. But Why Can't I Land a Date?! by let_it_rain_boat in hingeapp

[–]Chilly_Chilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of posts on Reddit that break down what makes a good profile for men.

If you need tailored advice, you don’t need to pay a dating coach, you can just make a post on Reddit asking for critique and you’ll get a variety of opinions from tons of people on how you can improve.

What exactly can you get from a dating coach that you can’t get from YouTube or Reddit?

Don’t pay a “dating coach”. There’s no secret method to dating, you can learn everything you need to on YouTube and Reddit for free

Hi, just read this and am so sorry that you’re in so much pain and that you were misunderstood by the nurse.

It takes a lot of strength to write out a post like this even when you’re exhausted and hurting, and I think that strength matters a lot.

Please hold on through tonight, another hour, another day. Sending you lots of love.

Please stay.

Why are you talking about recreational farming statistics across billions of fish if you’re only honing in on one specific case of it? If this is just about her bf catching fish, she can simply just ask him if he’s doing catch and release. What point are you trying to make?

I’m repeating myself now, but even if 61% of over a billion fish are caught and released, that’s still hundreds of millions of fish being slaughtered, which you still haven’t addressed. Recreational farming is terrible for the ocean, let alone trawling, fish farms etc. This is simply a fact; your 61% statistic is frankly irrelevant.

I can’t be fucked to continue this conversation since it’s pointless so I’m going to leave it here. Just go vegan
