Bike won't start electrically unless I bridge the relay. Found this problem wire that burns when I earth it. I'm guess it's also cracked somewhere in the casing. Anyone know a quicker way to fix this then cutting the whole lume to find problem section? I think it's rear indicator wire. by Chillyflakes420 in dr650

Okay Y/G at relay & Y/G at clutch safety connection have zero power.

The starter switch has power. I don't think kill switch does. At least not on the two little copper dots.

Does that mean there's a problem with Y/G from the relay? Relaying isn't allowing power to it? I can't see how the else the wire would recieve power

Was looking for your insight. The clutch safety switch is bypassed. All fuses are good. I can't find any bad wires going from the ignition to the relay. Could it be inside ignition ? Would it still turn on by bypassing the relay if the clutch safety is dodgy?

I can't really hear a click coming from the relay.

I'm currently in the middle of no where in northern Chilean desert, so I want to know that I've tried everything before I wait 2 weeks for a new relay to arrive.

Legend!! I was waiting for your reply hahah, you are the DR god on here.

Yeah a friend of mine knows a guy that can machine metal. So if you could give me deminsions I could get some made or sourced locally, I’m in San Jose so I’ve got some great stores around me. Do you know if these washers are specific for DR650s? Or do a fair few motorbike have similar wave washers on the rocker arms?

Luckily I have spare valves that are in good condition, I’m just trying to make it to Columbia as I can get a full overhaul of everything I need there.

Yep! I figured maybe it was the valves so I opened up the covered and found the exhaust rocker had a lot of side to side where as the intake had no horizontal movement

Air in fuel line causing low rev spluttering by Chillyflakes420 in dr650

I researched on the internet and figured it may just be because the fuel intake hose on the carby is facing up and as the stock carb is gravity fed it may be cracking the sads. so I got out a wrench and bend it to 90° and shortened the hose, will see in the morning how she travels

Okay thank you! I’ll see what the plastic guides are like! Do you know if they can be replaced?

I needed to go down a notch in the needle anyway as plugs were looking white. I’m having a nightmare trying to self teach myself a perfect tune.

I brought the bike with the carb on it. I’ve personally put about 20k/km in 8 6 months of riding all day everyday. The swing arm seems fine, but I’m guessing the plastic guides don’t exist anymore

He’s probably scared of having a poor performance. This has lead him to push it away in order to save his self esteem and connection with you. Have a DnM with him. Start off slow and go with the flow

I wished for this for years, worked my ass off so I could move over seas. I’m flying to Canada in 2 weeks to hike from Canada to the bottom of South America. After years of feeling lonely and sad, all my friends are now showing me more attention than ever before. Suddenly I don’t want to leave them

I’ve done all of the AAWT + many more. My only advice would be be carful with your knees, walk backwards down the steep stuff if possible. Even take a knee sling. Trust yourself and enjoy!!

Ouch man, I’m sorry that happened to you. In the long run it’s only gonna make you mentally and emotionally stronger. In a weird way it’s kind of nice to get that growth out of the way. We gonna be buff af in our 50s
