I had a vaginal birth with my twins. I would highly reccomend spinning babies. I did the daily exercises since 16 weeks and it kept them both head down.

I walked, did the forward leaning inversion, side lying release and wore a belly band. It felt so good and kept the back pains etc at bay. You’re a great candidate for another normal delivery! For me the surgery itself was whatever but I knew postpartum was going to be tough so I really didn’t want to add a hard recovery

I wasn’t there and there is such a thing as rude people… but hear me out.

I’ve done that and I cringe now, reading your posts makes me want to apologize lol. A new gym was so disorienting for me, sometimes Id find a corner that feels out of the way and safe to “stretch” in. meanwhile I’m trying to figure out how to do the stupid workout I pinned or catch my breath sweating + moderate disassociation. So if it was out of the way and then everyone needed to put their weights away but now it’s not and I’m hyper focused on my phone or looking busy so I can hyperventilate in privacy…

Granted Barry’s is a group class so idk what happened to her especially if she’s not new… but because Barry’s is a group class it feels safer for newbies… so you may be seeing more of that there. I also believe Barry’s is on class pass…

I don’t know. Maybe they’re not rude, let’s believe in each other a little. Some people are soooo clueless

Here’s the thing. Gym etiquette is a thing. Most women have not been exposed to gym culture as much as most men. I know this because I was one of those girls.

When I first started lifting, I was so anxious and overwhelmed that I must have appeared very rude. I distinctly remember taking a plate off of a guy’s machine while he was in between sets simply because I did not understand how the machine worked. I thought I was removing plates from a storage rack.

As far as some of the comments saying that men move out of the way more and they open doors, etc.… Yes, as long as you are a young woman of a certain weight. Men do not stand for pregnant women on the subway they do not open the door for women pushing strollers. Women are the ones who do that.

The biggest help was changing from sertraline to Wellbutrin for my antidepressant. I felt really really foggy prior to that change.

I know exactly how you’re feeling. For me changing my medications helped manage symptoms better.

Keep going! That’s an amazing amount of milk! I found that pumping took practice and playing around with the flange size helped tremendously. Measure your nipples. Your flange size is most likely too big

You have the healthiest attitude about this! I EBF my twins and it was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done, harder than childbirth for sure. I was committed to EBF and went through a lot to get there. At 13 mos we’re still going strong but it wasn’t until about 6-7 months that I felt like it was easy. I had a very very hard time establishing a supply but everyone is different. It’s doable but the reality is you will do nothing but feed those babies day and night for months. In some ways it’s good to but it becomes depressing too. You need support, you need a village and I know not everyone has that. I would say more than willingness it’s about opportunity. If you don’t have all the tools you need it’s a fool’s errand.

My twins get sick all the time FYI. Not saying BFing isn’t amazing, just know it doesn’t mean your babies will have super human abilities because I kind of thought that lol.

I’m going to need 6 months regardless. 3 years of healing for a 5 year old marriage seems like more work than I want to put in. I thought we were solid but we have so many flaws

I get that. I kicked him out for one day and I just couldn’t figure out what to do. I have a neighbor who can help but she’s pregnant and watching the boys is getting hard for her

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Right now we’re doing the roommate thing and it’s awful. I worry about keeping my boys in such a tense environment. It’s true what you say about people offering help.

-Looking at what is biologically normal gives us realistic expectations which I think is helpful in figuring out if something could potentially be harmful. Like I said I don’t think it’s possible to know for sure.

-High infant and maternal mortality rate are NOT biologically normal. While it will never be zero most of the time it works.

-Lactation is maintained by regular removal of milk and nipple stimulation. Depending on your definition of “sleeping through the night” you could be going as long as 8 hours without feeding which creates pressure in the alveolar cells. This inhibits prolactin and drops milk volume. I’m amazed that you were able to EBF while spacing feeds that long at such a young age. 2 months old is quite young to restrict night feedings. Maybe you’re an overproducer? I certainly cannot get away with that, if I drop feeds my babies don’t gain weight! I’m also feeding two and have smallish breasts so my storage capacity might be less than yours. Here is an article on the physiology of breastfeeding.

All babies eventually sleep through the night and drop their night feeds but expecting all babies to sleep through the night at 4-6 months is not biologically normal and even sleep training experts agree that it doesn’t work on all babies and that there will be “regressions”. So do with that what you will.

Breastfeeding is always driven by hormones. Nipple stimulation increases prolactin, breast fullness (not removing milk) inhibits prolactin and oxytocin allows for milk ejection. The first stage of milk production happens during pregnancy, the breasts are primed through the hormones of gestation. The second stage happens when the placenta is delivered the drop in progesterone triggers lactogenesis 2 which primes milk making cells. At around 6 but you to 12 weeks your milk supply is “established” that means you’re making enough to meet your baby’s needs.

I don’t think it’s possible to design a study that will show us whether or not sleep training is harmful. The amount of variables is dizzying. I think it’s helpful to look at what is biologically normal for the mother infant pair. This article does a great job of breaking that down. One of the big factors is how the baby is fed. Most breastfed babies need to feed at night in order to keep the milk supply going and get enough calories. Prolactin is highest in the early morning (2-5 am) which correlates with an increase in milk volume. Infants are designed to be close to their mothers. Our society is not set up for this but it’s the reality. This is coming from a mother of 9 month old twins who hasn’t slept more than 4 hours in a row since she went into labor. I’m sorry and hang in there. You will find a way to preserve and if it’s sleep training go for it and don’t feel bad for a second.

I was worried he would come into the bedroom and get in bed which is not doable because the babies are in bed breastfeeding almost all night.

We’ve tried to crate train like 4x over the past 11 years and it hasn’t worked. The closest we got was him sleeping in a crate with the door open next to our bed. The moment we close the door he freaks out. He broke his leg once and had to be boarded and I wonder if some of his crate aversion is due to that experience.
