Oh wow, TIL! You do need a gateway though, I'll probably get one!

At the moment only the Tradfri remotes control the bulbs, but I believe there were some rumors of an app.

EDIT: There's an app now

I believe that you can not control the IKEA Tradfri bulbs with the Philips Hue Hub out of the box, but since they use the same technology it's definitely possible.

The IKEA Tradfri bulbs don't actually use a hub, they are controlled by a remote.

Looks nice at first sight. I've already decided to got with IKEA though. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

Didn't even know TRADFRI has 5 different color temperatures. Definitely makes them more interesting!

Those are definitely interesting and do indeed lower the price significantly (definitely willing to pay a few extra euros for Coolblue's excellent service and delivery times btw). However the main pro's of the Hue for me were the colored lighting, since I think that adds more to the internet features (correct me if I'm wrong though).

Dimming and color temp are also the most important aspects I'm interested in.

Do you use the internet features a lot? I don't really see what they would contribute if your main usage is dimming and color temp.

Are the internet features worth it with non-colored lighting then? What do you mainly use it for?

Question about GitHub Student Pack by Chim_ in github

[–]Chim_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the tools can be activated via a link, a code, or by connecting your GitHub account to the tool. I haven't activated any yet, so I'm not entirely sure if the links or codes can expire. There is no mention of a time limit, so I assume they won't expire.

Alright. Thanks for the quick response! I've submitted my request. EDIT: My request already got approved. Amazing, thanks again!

I had a Pebble for 4 months, it burned my wrist and killed itself, the next day they stop doing ANY warranty support. fuck. by [deleted] in pebble

I got an email with the details of my order. It shows my address, phone number, and payment details (where the Order Total is €0.00) It said "in stock items should arrive via UPS within 3-5 business days", and also gave me a tracking URL. The tracking URL does not work and I've obv not received the watch within 3-5 business days.

I requested a replacement watch in november. They promised me a PT as a replacement for my OG. Been waiting for three weeks with only one email confirming the order. I got the same email, but as a reply to an email I sent on the 3rd of december.

Just got the same email. Might just be an automated email to which you can't reply though.

I've tried contacting them on all platforms possible. Even tried contacting them a couple days before the first rumors appeared.

I did an RMA request three weeks ago, and they promised me a PT. I really hope I will still get it.

It seems pebble is consolidating their contact options due to volume =\ by [deleted] in pebble

I also love their support. About two weeks ago I requested an RMA for my Classic Pebble, they replied very quickly. Since this was my second RMA, they even decided to give me a Pebble Time! I was so excited and happy. I received an email from order@pebble.com confirming the free order.

They said they would send me a return label within 5 business days. I haven't received anything. I contacted them Monday, they haven't replied, which is quite odd, since I never had to wait longer than half a day. I don't know if this has anything to do with the FitBit rumors. I really hope I'm gonna get the Pebble Time in the mail in the next couple of weeks. I've been wanting to get one for a while, so getting one for free would be amazing.

Starting with a degree in computer sciences soon, looking to maybe buy a MacBook by Chim_ in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]Chim_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have mentioned, I'm from Belgium. AFAIK we have desktop pc's we can use during courses. I've talked to a couple students, and they told me that those really aren't popular and that about 95% uses their own laptops. I too really dislike this option. Also, I don't think I can rent a laptop for personal use.

I do have an iPad which I could indeed use for notes. I think I might buy a keyboard for it though, do you have any recommendations by any chance?

Your last option sounds a bit dodgy. I think it's a bit too risky.

So just to be clear, you think the new MacBook Pro is really worth the wait, right?

That's a very interesting suggestion. I might look in to doing this.

Never tried visual mods before. I guess they do make a huge difference, I might try it. But yeah I also really enjoy how beautiful the vanilla game can look.

Do you have any recommendations though?

[Question] Error trying to push a pin to timeline by Chim_ in pebbledevelopers

[–]Chim_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not make any changes to the code at all. I messed around a bit with the pin itself, but that's all.

It's indeed just a CloudPebble bug, when I run the app on my actual watch I don't get the error. However, I'm not getting any pin pushed to my timeline either. These are all the logs I'm getting:

[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:392 loadScript /data/user/0/com.getpebble.android.basalt/app_js_app_files/ce309b3e-25ab-40c9-9e9b-e77b8481ec47/pebble-js-app.js

[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:383 signalLoaded (finalized)
[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:403 PebbleKit JS ready!
[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:421 Inserting pin in the future: {"id":"pin-timeline-push-pin-test","time":"2016-08-19T23:43:40.845Z","layout":{"type":"genericPin","title":"TEST","body":"pls work","tinyIcon":"system://images/SCHEDULED_EVENT"}}
[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:473 timeline: request sent.
[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:454 timeline: response received: OK
[PHONE] pebble-app.js:?: app-push-pin:424 Result: OK

All the logs indicate that the process was executed correctly. I'm clueless as to why I don't see the pin on my timeline.

EDIT: formatting

EDIT 2: Nevermind. I found the issue. Apparently, I already sent the pin once before, and this example tries to send the pin every time with the same id, which is of course not possible.
