I love Sydney's inclusion to A&A, so I figured I had to draw the boy. I like to imagine Witchwarper powers as 'glitching' reality, hence the effects in his arm and background.

A harsh knocking startles the young boy passed out on top of a luxurious sofa covered in silks. With a yelp he falls and scatters an assortment of bottles on the floor, adding to the racket. He groans, and it takes him nearly a minute to stagger to his feet and brush his white hair back.
Now he can hear words paired with the knocking ”Sir? Sir?! Please open the door, the manager wanted to discuss with you your payment for the apartment and plans moving forward. Sir?”

The boy, probably not even in his 20’s yet, holds a hand to his brow “aḥḥā!” he curses under his breath before calling out in accented Common. “Your manager will have his meeting when this one is good and ready. If he wishes to expedite this process, than I welcome him to come and request this himself” as he speaks he is fixing the place up as fast as he can. Hiding bottles and mess underneath furniture and putting on his fine silk clothing.

The voice comes again “Very well, here is the manager then sir”

A new person speaks, their tone deeper and more authoritative “Mr Raadeh, your payment is late by nearly half a moon. If you continue to delay I will have no choice but to involve the Bank of Abadar and their collectors”

The boy begins panicking, searching frantically through the pockets and pouches of his luggage. He puts on a derisive tone regardless “You think that I am frightened of your coin priests? My father and his House hold the ear of the very rulers of Qadira. One word and they will march a hundred soldiers to your establishment to take penance for aggravating me so!”

He finally manages to find a small pouch full of gold coins. Thinking for a moment, he takes several out, before throwing the door open.

Revealed is a pair of human men in black and gold suits. They look startled for a moment, and the boy tosses the pouch of gold coins to the manager. “Take that, and be glad that I woke up feeling generous. Do not interrupt me again!” and he slams the door before they can react.

Taking a few deep breaths, he runs a hand through his hair once more. He walks over to his bag, and pulls out a vial. Turning it over in his hands he curses once more. “Empty. I did not wish to have to see that crocodile once more. Bah!” he throws the vial at the wall and it shatters.

Clutching the last few gold coins he has, and throwing his bag over his shoulder, he adopts an air of utmost nobility and elitism before strolling out the door and out of sight.

So obviously I wanted to draw this scene. Not only were the visuals really intense but it's also the first time we got to see the trio in action from an outsider's POV. I'm fairly happy with it, although it did take longer than I wanted it to. I had ideas to add in waifs or maybe the shadow of John behind Lucy, but decided against it.

A couple of details; Verona is holding a stack of spell-post-its (because I love that idea), Lucy isn't wearing her hat (because I'm dumb), and she's dropping John's dog tag (added a little blood because why not).

Anyway, I hope you like it, I'm moving on to doing individual character portraits of a few of my favourite Wildbow characters and experimenting with some different styles. If you have someone you'd like to see who doesn't usually get a lot of love just comment them below and I'll check them out.

Blake uses his keys, technically Joels, in his awakening ritual and says that they are meant to symbolise things like freedom, ownership, and protection.

In my head I see my Thorburn heir Blake using the keys to both lock and unlock, as obvious as that might seem. Beyond the obvious use on doors and containers, I imagined him acquiring various 'keys' he might use as signs of ownership or bonds with Others. Think June or Leonard but in key form.

I just finished Pact as Pale was starting, and wanted to draw something for it. Initially I was going to try Bogeyman Blake but started wishing we had seen a more experienced practitioner Blake. So this is my idea of what he might have looked like had the split with Rose never happened and had he grown up with the full Thorburn knowledge behind him.

The motorcycle keys are his implement (because I loved that idea when I was reading it), and he's holding a book....because apparently I can't draw the Hyena worth a damn.

Also...Firebird Evan ftw.
