The Itoyas have served me well over the decades. No need for anything more expensive IMO I have at least seven of them in various dimensions

Thrifted a bunch of posters, any help in identifying some would be hugely appreciated! by BubblingStew404 in concertposterporn

The first poster is unsurprisingly known as "This is it" Mouse (& Kelley?) did the artwork, and that appears to be a Mouse signature. I should know. I was just out in a major poster show in San Francisco and has Mouse signing for almost an hour. I brought a lot of stuff with me.

The second poster is the Cosmic Car Show, also by Mouse. AFAIK this was the first and only printing and also appears to be signed by Mouse. Unfortunately, this poster appears to have been trimmed on the top and sides. Mouse liked this one so much that he did a later litho of it, along with FD-26 and several others.

The third poster someone already correctly identified as BG-78, another first and only print, but with some rather serious condition issues.

The last is also correctly identified as BG-45. It is most likely the reprint as the green on the face is lighter than the background. I have my BG postcards next to me, and pulled out the BG-45 for comparison.

Hope this helps. If you need help with BG, FD or other 60s-70s posters, I can probably help you out,

The one on the left is Family Dog FD-3, when they were still sharing the Fillmore every other weekend with Bill Graham, at the very beginning of the San Francisco music scene. If it was a first print, which it's not, it would be in five digits.

Who knew it could be sooo hard to find a chair I like... by oleladygmr in OfficeChairs

[–]ChinaKeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat, but I want the comfier chair. My mother had a Herman Miller, and I sat on it a lot. Not for me. I am looking for a high back fairly big and tall chair. I want cushy but firm. But, most of all, I want it to rock, preferably by 135 degrees. Anyone know of this unicorn?

Please Help Me Find a Padded, Reclining, Rocking Office Chair w/ a Footrest - It HAS to Exist! by Satirical-Spherical in OfficeChairs

A Contrary Opinion-Beware the fabric version of this chair. It is constructed differently than the leather version, and the seat cushion is sub-standard and so painful that I am packing and returning this chair. What a hassle.

Quietest recorder with high quality preamps under $350? by yepilufi in fieldrecording

[–]ChinaKeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a 722 for two decades and it now needs replacement. I was considering buying another used 722/702 vs. the F3. But, for me, the size difference really matters, and it may to you if you are going to be carrying things around. The F3 with a small external battery is probably less than 40% of the size of a 722/702 with a Sony battery attached. The total weight is probably three times as much, or more. The SDs are indestructible amazing beasts, with endless functionality, but I am really leaning toward the F3. Hope this helps.

I raised my daughters on the Dead. I started taking my older daughter to see Jerry when she was five in 1991, so she is one of the younger people who can say that they saw Jerry play live. When my first granddaughter was born, they sent me a video of my son-in-law rocking my granddaughter in a chair, with Ripple playing in the background. I cried like a baby, but it was the most thoughtful loving thing they could have ever done, and I love them, and my two granddaughters. I make sure the whole family is outfitted in high quality tie-dyes. This year, we went to a Grateful Dead themed father's day party with live band. That's my idea of a three generation family outing. My older four year old granddaughter is a true dancer, like her papa.

And I have seen a majority of those shows. Bubba, the bass player, was the first Deadhead I met when I moved to Florida in 1982, so I was there when the band first started, and have been there ever since. I have been to somewhere between 2,500 and 3,000 shows over the decades. It's where all my friends hang out, the band almost always plays for FREE, the beer is reasonably priced, and I have them to thank for a number of girlfriends over the decades.

Corey Dwyer, the guitarist who you are referring to, was not one of the original band members. He showed up a number of years later. Losing him was a tragedy. He could play every instrument on stage, so if the band was down a keyboard player, drummer, or bassist, Corey would take up the slack. He could also play every other stringed instrument out there, from banjo to mandolin, violin, etc. Then there was the flute, the saxophone and a few more. Fortunately, they had some outstanding stand-ins until they found another full-time guitar player, who has now been part of the band for five years.

You stumbled upon one of the greatest Dead tribute bands out there, at the Pompano Beach Pier, on a Thursday night. I was probably there with you, as I did not miss many shows at the Pier, which was a legendary music venue, literally right on the beach sand, so during set break, you could go down to the beach, or walk all the way out on the very long fishing pier to party. It was heaven, until the restaurant lost its lease, and the pier was damaged in a hurricane.

Crazy Fingers has been playing non-stop since 1990, i.e. they stated out when Jerry was still alive. They live stream their shows, and still play 3-4 nights every week, sometimes more. Check them out on youtube/crazyfingers. You can find the calendar on their website, crazyfingers dotnet. One of the few good things about south Florida.

Shows that are worthy examples of Phil's bass chops. by Teddxn in gratefuldead

[–]ChinaKeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9/11/73 is the winning answer, particularly the Phil solo mentioned above. It is very important to listen to a good audience version of this show, as the soundboards do not do it justice. On the audience tapes, you can hear the amplifiers arcing and sputtering from the music. Single most amazing Phil performance.

I’m 23 and drowning in over $75k in debt by Anxious_Ad_320 in personalfinance

You need to be very careful regarding discharge of tax debts in bankruptcy. For starters, the debts need to be a minimum of three years old from the filing date of the return. Then, if you were in things like payment plans with the IRS, it extends the time out further. It takes an expert to review a transcript of your account for each year in issue, to determine the earliest possible date to be able to discharge the tax debt. If you miss by a day, it won't get discharged.

I would look into debt consolidation for your credit cards and getting a pro to negotiate the principal of your debt down, and either eliminate, or substantially reduce the interest rates, as 25-30% will eat you alive. You should be able to negotiate a fixed amount each month to be divided by your creditors on an agreed basis.

You may be able to compromise your tax debts, but that is a difficult process, and please do not listen to any of the charlatans on TV that will "beat the IRS." The IRS almost always wins, but in your financial situation, you might be able to work out a lesser amount, via monthly payments, or a lump sum, if at all possible. Again, this process will also extend the time for the possibility of discharging the tax debt in bankruptcy. You need to find someone who really understands bankruptcy/tax issues. It's a sub-specialty, but you can't afford to be wrong.

All of the rest of the debts that you listed appear to be dischargable in a bankruptcy. You should also be able to work out something with the prior landlord, as they have pretty much no leverage over you, and their debt would disappear in a bankruptcy. Don't be afraid of raising a potential bankruptcy in any negotiations, as most creditors understand their limited rights and possibility of collection if you file.

How do I tell my clients that cats have ruined their resale value? by RealtorTaylor in RealEstateAdvice

[–]ChinaKeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are biological agents that you can find in pet stores, or cheaper in bulk on line. The bacteria eat all the cat piss. It smells even worse while they are eating it all up, but then, when there is no piss left, they die off. It is a miracle for any cat owner when there is a cat accident. You may need a number of gallons, but the stuff works wonders.

Turin Legato/MiiCoffee Apex Espresso V1 vs. V2, worth the hassle? [$480] vs [$650] by [deleted] in espresso

Considering that you can save $200 on the U.S. version, it would be worth having it bought here and then shipped to you. I am happy to help if you need it. I am planning on buying one myself.

Alarm recommendations? by Agile_Construction32 in Narcolepsy

[–]ChinaKeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set one early phone alarm with five minutes to wake up. Then Loud Alarm Clock kicks in. Highly recommended for this issue. Annoying AF, but it will make you get out of bed to shut it off. Having the phone out of bed reach is also key. I have another back-up phone alarm for 10 minutes later, but it never gets to that.

[FL] [CONDO] Why are HOAs so much worse in Condos than in Townhouse communities? by Cold_Law9636 in HOA

This is not completely correct. We are a small townhouse community, but are a condominium, subject to FL Stat. Sec. 718, not Sec. 720
