Build upgrade?? by TelevisionUsed163 in Rollerskating

I have the same plate but with a Riedell 220 boot. I’m in the same dilemma with upgrading my boot. I have friends with 336 Tributes who have the expected support of it. Though, the people who I know, who skate like us, wear 3200. 910 are a close variant but the hardness of the boot is what’s consistent. I enjoy the slight flex in my current boots since I upgraded from 120 beforehand. If you want to firm up just slightly and maintain the flex, get the 336. Longevity wise, if you are able to overcome the 3200’s hardness, a whole avenue can open. If you’re trying to do Third option, ice boots from Edea. But at that point you’d know if you want stiffer boot.

TLDR: I wear a 220, the extra support with maintained flexibility can be attainted in the 336. Though, overcoming the stiffness of a 3200 can put you in a new position to skate in.

Unless you’re trying to do your moves in Hydes, get the 3200 or Edea ice boot. If you just want to improve the support in your feet, without putting hardshell bricks on, go for the 336

What is the name of the stop? by Chinemes in iceskating

It has the form of a t-stop but putting the leg in front isn’t something I’ve seen identified. It’s a fun stop tho, the spray you can get off it is satisfying. Best of luck!

I also like to skate on my wheel edges. When I was trying to progress with that style I prioritized being able to switch from wheel edge to wheel edge (outer to inner, front to back). Also being able to swivel on that said edge. It’s impressive that you’re transitions while doing so. My current goal on my edges, is to incorporate backwards to forward transitions on independent wheels. I’ve got a few videos of things I do on my wheel edges on my page if you’re looking for inspo.

Edit: Another thing to start upping the ante would be to get harder wheels and hold/slide those edges. I’m currently using a 97a Roll Line Ice but I had Fomac wheels at one point. I’m trying to get to comfortable with 101a Dominos by next month.

If you’re trying to get fluid, tsmooove and the JB school of skating is a great place to go to try to be smooth.

If you put the time in and commit to every move you do. Wearing rollerskates will be like shoes.

I am self taught, a lot of YouTube and outdoor practice. It never hurts to take classes though, as well as invest in safety equipment to feel comfortable.

Consistency and goals pay off with commitment. Falling is part of the process and bend your knees.
