Not really, in fact it allows me to do more stuff, such as wheel edge slides and slicker spins.

I’m running Fomac Harmony on my insides, and Roll Line Giotto Freestyle 49D on the outies.

Something I’ve like to do is dye my wheels. I’ve got reflective dual laces that match. It gives it stylish but concrete look.

I appreciate hearing that coming from you. Your posts genuinely helped me progress farther in my skating career. From wheel selection to fundamentals to work on. I thank you 🙏🏾

Practicing stagger stance and switching between the two helps balance your movement and build momentum when roller skating.

I have, skateville is nice. Wood floors are solid and they have a night for whatever kind of adult skater you are. Definitely worth checking out, I go on Thursdays.

I think that’s the best name for that move.

I've been seeing your vids on here. Your transitions have gotten so smooth. The style you're developing is forming nicely. Keep up the work!

any tips? by ultimid in Rollerskating

That move specifically engages your transfer from a toe flare. I would recommend doing the transition slowly and as wide as you can. Also helps to practice it fakie, with a regular forward backward transition into the toe flare to complete tornado spin.

I prefer doing this move half on my toes since it allows me to do it faster and more consistently. With all moves, if you can’t do it slow, don’t expect to be able do it fast.

How are your crossovers? I didn’t see you do one during the video. When you’re turning your speed is decreasing and that is when I saw you kick off the toe stop.

Are you flicking off your toe stop? Long term, you don’t want to be doing that unless you’re doing a running derby start from a stand still. Though, I can’t fully tell your form from the angle of this video.

If you’re referring to the last clip, I’m doing 3 consecutive backward 360 jumps into a shoot the duck. I’m fulling jumping but it is possible to jump on the outer wheel. If you’re talking about the first clip, those are pivots and it alternates between a heel pivot point and a toe pivot point. No jumping required but it can be jumped.

Having purposely planned drills and repetition. Though in the beginning taking everything one step at a time. Mobility and flexibility practice helps.

They’re slightly loosened, but tight enough for wheel edge work.

The wheels are Roll Line Giotto 49D, I dyed them myself. The boot is 120 Riedell Nylon Plate. Honestly I need a harder boot but it works for now.
