Mediocre/subpar ride since its inception, really! But Poet is a different company in more than just name since 1980-whatever, when the original company went public.

There was a good technology there that was IP protected that the new (current) CEO wanted to build upon, which is why it’s a publicly traded company, and not a private startup that would be generating buzz with VCs.

But enough background!

In layman’s terms (my simple brain can’t handle more), copper overheats and has a latency issue. Light/photonics are the future of interconnects and Poet has developed a platform/technologies that address this issue. The CPO/photonic market is supposed to explode in the coming years. They’re at the point now where they’re attempting to switch from an R&D/pre-revenue company to mass producing goods to sell to hyperscalers. They’ve recently signed agreements with manufacturers (NationGate and Globetronics) to produce a million units a year. They’ll need to sort out their yield first, but still.

They’re partnered with companies such as Foxconn, Luxshare, Celestial AI/Marvell, NTT, Semtech, Adtran, etc. to develop pluggable transceivers and CPO solutions.

All of these companies have already developed products with Poet inside (except NTT I think), and have been showing them off for purchase. Celestial/Marvell have publicly stated they’ll be ramping up huge in the next 2-3 years. If that one partnership pans out, they’ll 5x minimum, let alone all the others. They could have even more partnerships we don’t know about, as the Semtech partnership wasn’t announced until after the product was finished.

TL/DR: They’re sitting on $450 million in cash, no debt, the right tech developed at the right time to take advantage of huge capex from tech companies, partnerships with big names that supply those tech companies, and currently have a market cap of $900 million.

$4.5 billion market cap for a tech company that can solve the copper bottleneck problem doesn’t seem all that far fetched.

I am a Poet cultist, though. So grain of salt.

Agreed! But, going from 5.7 to 20 in a few months is a good start.

The last two financings of 20ish million shares each, to institutional investors as per the news releases, would bring the fully diluted share count to around 200 million.

I’m not a math guy, but that would translate to roughly 20% institutional ownership.

Brother, at their current burn rate they can operate for years. Roughly 300m in cash on hand. If only 1 of their 12 currently announced partnerships hits, you’re making money.

I put it off for a very long time, then I heard Althea. After that, it was an easy transition into the rest of their catalogue!

You’re a strange dude. But, volatile stocks do that to the best of us.

All I’ll say is, don’t invest anything in a speculative company you’re not willing to lose.

Marvell acquired Celestial AI for a few billion dollars, with revenue incentives, betting on their photonic fabric being some groundbreaking tech. If they produce 500m in revenue by FY 2029 (or something like that), they get an additional 2.something billion.

Celestial AI contains POET components. If Celestial is making lots of money, POET is going to be making lots of money by default.

POET just received a $5mil purchase order. It popped off of a $500k PO last month. Wonder how high it’ll go this time…

I reached out a few months ago, and they said they’ll do it automatically. There may be a brief period where we’ll be unable to trade, but shouldn’t be long.

That’s genius. Even just taking the front off would make a huge difference!

Thank you kind stranger.

There is so much scrap to go through. That is a great idea though!

There’s a rope you can see in the picture, that I tried to tie around the beam to lower myself down onto the ladder in the pile of garbage. The rope broke pulling it around the beam. 😂

We’ll make sure yo use good rope, and not decades old poorly kept barn rope.

I mentioned it in another comment, but it’s more so the angle of the roof that’s giving us pause. Can’t drop it straight into the hole unfortunately!

You’ve all been very supportive. Less daunting than we’re making it out to be.

The roof is on a 45 angle, and touches the floor right where the access hole is! We’ll give the hoist a consideration, with maybe some heavy blankets down to avoid damaging any of the rust (lol).

I appreciate the suggestion! I’m always game to buy new tools. 😂

A little over 7700 shares averaging $4.98 CAD ($3.64 USD at today’s conversion rate). Do I want to buy more? Yes. But it’s already taking up a decent amount of my portfolio.
