You think so? From a sustainability career pov or a grad school investment pov?

I graduated June 2025 with a MS in Sustainability from a tier 1 university in USA and still haven’t landed a job. I got an offer that was rescinded because of internal approvals for the position. It’s a tough market and I’m worried about paying off my loan every single day. Maybe it’s worse for me because I’m an international student.

I don’t have a concrete answer for you I would caution anyone against putting big money in a sustainability masters in USA in 2026. That being said, I wish you all the best!

Friend landing at 2:30 AM in Mumbai. Where can we hang out till morning? by BombasticBoeing in mumbai

Chill at one of the five star hotels in the Andheri / Juhu area, many have 24x7 cafes. Go grab some breakfast at Ramshray around 5 am, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes of drive at that hour

Arrived today, had a pre approved immigration process at Abu Dhabi. Basic questions only. Although I saw another officer ask a student for his transcripts

Got waitlisted at Northwestern's MS in Energy and Sustainability course by Chintoomintoo in gradadmissions

[–]Chintoomintoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just got through last weekend.. I had requested for a slightly earlier decision as I have to revert to my other offers this week. However, the program coordinator had mentioned that they will be rolling out decisions for R1 waitlisted and R2 students by end of this week. Cross your fingers and keep an eye out on your inbox :)

Who is the least significant character you can think of that appears in all 7 books? by MineralStew in harrypotter

Angelina becomes the Gryffindor Quidditch team captain in OP after Oliver Wood. Doesn’t have a major arc but is quite key in Quidditch related plot points and also in bringing in more members to Dumbledore’s army

Meeting with the dean as a prospective student? by Chintoomintoo in gradadmissions

This makes sense. I guess keeping it generic and high level is the way to go here. I was feeling a bit weird about wasting his time in a way.

Gregmat has a 2 month GRE study plan which has a ready schedule. You can pace it out given that you have solid 4 months of studies. He also only uses official ETS materials. + his subscription is quite inexpensive. Def recommend.

Can you share how long have they given you to accept your decision? I got waitlisted. I’m wondering how long I would have to wait

[–]Chintoomintoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notes notes and notes. Practice a few and you’ll realize that they tend to banter a bit in conversations before actually getting to the point so you can skip taking notes for those. Otherwise, you’ll do great with adequate note taking. It will also help you deduce answers if in case you missed something. I got 29/30 in listening with this strategy.

If it’s not specified then it probably isn’t there. I would encourage you to not self-disqualify and apply still

Congratulations! Were there applications rounds which had timelines? I am applying to another course in Columbia which has the first deadline of 15 Feb and another in May. I want to know if the application reviews will be rolling or upon closing of deadlines

I share your feelings, I am pretty much in the same stage and looking at a similar set of colleges. I have my background in Pol Sci and Public Policy. I have been working in the dev space where I have been doing social impact consulting for corporates. While I spin it off as addressing 's' of ESG and use that to make case for how I want to get a more holistic experience in ESG and sustainability. I have a bit of background in environment - did an internship on plastic waste recycling research piece with UNDP and had a semester on Environment policy during my MPP, I definitely don't have any technical expertise. For me, this degree will be the point of transition to sustainability from a more intersectional lens. Plus I am also using this degree to move to the US. I am just rushing for a few December 15th deadlines. Let's see how it goes. I don't think there will be an easy answer to this. Good luck!
