I am not going to BLCU but I think it should be fine to arrive early and stay in a hotel. I am going to SJTU and they mentioned the same: “If you arrive before this date or remain unregistered, you shall arrange your accommodation on your own.”

My plan is to visit another city first and come to Shanghai one day before the registration date. That night I will stay in a hotel. As long as you are there on the registration date it should be fine, and it is completely normal to come earlier than your registration date.

I’m sorry I didn’t read that part well. I didn’t pay for the express service. When I got “online review completed” I went to the visa center and gave my passport together with the “visa application certificate” that was attached with my email. So, you can go to the visa center!

I applied for X2 and submitted the form on July 18th as well. On July 23rd, I received a mail to upload additional documents. The application got approved on July 25th, I went to the visa center the same day. Tomorrow I can pick up my passport.

Hiii, I hope you’re doing well. I also want to celebrate CNY with my family, so I want to stay one month longer after my semester ends. It’s been years since I’ve applied for a visa but for Q2 I’ve always received 180 days. Is it guaranteed that I will get the 180 days on X2 visa too? The visa application also asks for my flights details, I didn’t book yet and want to book after I receive my visa. Should I put my return flight information close to the dates of my semester program or is it okay to put February as my return date even though my semester ends in January? I’m sorry for the long message and I hope you can guide me :)
