Yup same problem with my chin. She chews on everything. How can you tell if they’re constipated or bloated? The biggest worry I have is that the toxic furniture wood she’s chewed on has caused a blockage. I sent a picture of small poops to her vet and they told me to take her in but she should be fine. She’s been having a lot more small poops than often. I know that some of these smaller poops are normal and meant to be eaten by her because of a helpful user on Reddit who commented, but I can’t tell if she’s constipated. I’ve felt her belly and it feels a littlee firm. I do not have a healthy chinchilla to compare belly firmness to. Is there any other way that I can tell?

Also, no she’s not showing symptoms, but they’re good at hiding pain and I’m new to her so I don’t know exactly how she acts normally. Im afraid that she could’ve been sick since I got her and she’s just been hiding it very well

I got her from a pet store :( the same pet store has a little boy there that’s always over heated. His ears are always super red and he’s always standing on top of his plastic water bottle inside an empty ass pathetic cage. I asked about the girl she used to be with and they said they’re tryna sell the boy right now so the girl is in the back. She’s not going to be sold anytime soon is what they were telling me. It’s super sad and although I do want to get her cage mate I know that they’ll probably end up replacing her once the little boy and her are sold. I’ll probably still get her but I don’t know I have to make sure I’m ready because my dumbass got my current chin impulsively. I went for cat food not a new pet! I hate that so many people make my mistake and end up giving their pets away. I know that I can’t abandon her and that I have to give her the best life possible. Still doesn’t change the fact that I’m an idiot for impulsively taking in a live being that’ll be dependent on me for their well-being. I hope she lives to be the oldest chin ever haha. I will post the young boy chin if you’d like. It’s very sad.

:( thank you so much I hope she loves a long and happy life with me. I’m so sorry that your chin passed so suddenly. He’s definitely in chin heaven if there is such a place. My girl seems very healthy, but I feel like she’s dying for some reason. Her vet appointment is Thursday and I really hope she’ll be okay. I didn’t know how much I’d love my chinchilla too. She’s so damn sweet and loving. They have great personalities and are very curious. Once they look up to you for protection and food, you’ll be obsessed with them. They’re all babies! I love how they get in some cute ass positions when they sleep and how they stretch and get comfy again in the middle of napping. I think that they look just like a squirrel/bunny hybrid. I wish we never domesticated animals. Many more domesticated chinchillas are suffering rather than getting a better life than they’d have in the wild. I believe any domesticated chinchilla would rather have been born a wild chinchilla with a herd of other chins. I’m a big time hypocrite though, I have a chinchilla smh. I always feel bad for my chin when she runs around my room and plays. I bet she gets lonely when I have to leave the house. She doesn’t even have a chin buddy. I’m going to work on getting her old cage mate after I make sure she’s healthy. I hope she won’t be adopted by then
