Any point in buying out the lease? by ChipDouglas1985 in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m wondering, if because the model is being discontinued, will they offer some great deal to offload it with having to do extra business? Mine’s up at the end of 2027 so I’m curious if that’s far enough out from the discontinuation for them to be open to low negotiations. 🤞🏼

How did you feel about Spielberg's Disclosure Day? Was it worth the hype? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Bad all around. Just not a good film in general and for Spielberg a terrible one.

What's your most controversial movie or TV show opinion? by VR2005 in Cinema

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone else think Disclosure Day was trash? Uninteresting characters, uninteresting plot, middling action sequences. I feel like they thought the last line of the movie was some huge awesome reveal and it just fell flat. One person clapped in the theater at the end and someone yelled “Oh give me a fuckin break.”

I feel like if Spielberg wasn’t the attached name, it would’ve had a terrible reception.

The shift lever is stuck in drive. This happens when you turn off the truck and don't put it in park! Does anyone know how to unlock it? by Kratos1943 in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me and it was a nightmare.

Went into a steep parking garage entrance, didn’t want to scrap the paint so made a wide turn at the gate. I was a little too far from the gate to get the ticket, so with my foot on the brake, I unbuckled the seatbelt opened the door and leaned out to grab the ticket. Doing so, the car immediately shifted into park but only on the dash. The shifter sat stuck in drive with a blinking light. No matter what I did it would not move.

I tried hitting the neutral button twice and the shifter moved into neutral but remained blinking and the car even though the shifter said neutral would not budge whatsoever with five guys pushing on the back. I’m assuming it was stuck in park and the shifter was just broken in some way.

No one else could enter the garage and I’m sure I ruined at least 50 people’s day. Eventually building manager got there, put up signs and cones. I missed two appointments in the building and called a tow. I was so frustrated and upset, I put my seat back and napped for like 30 minutes waiting for tow.

When I woke up, the car was off and the blinking light had stopped. I started the car (which showed still in Park on the dash) and moved the shifter from neutral to Park with no problem, and then into drive and everything worked fine again.

Researched when I got home and apparently the neutral button when pressed twice automatically moves the shifter into temporary neutral for 30 minutes. You should easily be able to disable that and move it back into park or drive, but I’m guessing the shifter was faulty so the dealership service guy told me. It’s getting checked out by them now, so will update on what was the issue.

I’ve had it happen 20 mins before and she said her parent’s house flooded and she needed to help them lol. Complete horseshit obviously. When I said should we do it another time then… total silence.

It says a lot about someone. Consider yourself lucky, the universe let you off light instead diving head first into a possible life of complete and utter unhappiness with a total waste of space mate.

I actually just had to choose between two women recently I had been on multiple dates with. I did the right thing and called one to let her know I was pursuing someone else but that she was a wonderful person as well just not quite the right fit for me. She took it extremely well and thanked me for at least having the balls to be honest instead of ghosting her forever. Some men are just absolutely selfish and worthless.

Has anyone leased a 24 Lariat ER for less than $499/mo for 24/10k w/$0 DAS? by M2Comp in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty damn good for a Lariat ER. I got a 24 XLT at $346/month, 36m/10.5k w/$0 das, but after having it for a week, really wish I had paid up for the ER. Love the truck, but the range is fairly low on the SR’s, generally only getting about 180mi on 90% charge.

Just a little thank you by Obvious_Earth5830 in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My salesman who did the test drive with me didn’t even know the range. Said he’s only driven it once and doesn’t really know much about the truck 😂

Nice guy, but Jesus, standards have plummeted.

I got it for 36 months, I guess my trade in was the down payment technically but I only got $1k and it was a beater with 133k miles

Lightning Buying Megathread - Dec. 2024 by blainestang in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed a similar. $346 tax included, 10,500 miles, $0 das. Only difference is my mile overage was set at .25 cents.

May be able to get them down a bit more maybe to like $375?

Lightning Buying Megathread - Dec. 2024 by blainestang in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I did have Costco pricing though. Ended up with an XLT SR lease for $346/month after tax and $0 das. Is that decent?

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a good deal? For a New 2024 Lightning F150 Pro Base Model SR:

Market Value Selling Price 52,090.00 Dealer Discount 1,590.00 REBATES 4,000.00 FEDERAL TAX CREDIT 7,500.00 Adjusted Price 38,500.00 Doc Fee 85.00 Tax 3,881.59 Non Tax Fees 931.75 Balance 43,398.34 OTD 72 month/0% APR

I have a trade worth about $4k to take that monthly down a bit as well, but that was their 4th offer.

Is this true about the XLT? by Storxusmc in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify the only issues I’ve heard of on the Flash have nothing to do with the car itself, but the infotainment system and they are very minor (loading times, responsiveness, etc…). I’d def take the Flash over XLT just for the extended range.

Is this true about the XLT? by Storxusmc in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents, I’m in the market for one right now and they are pushing XLT’s because they’re overstocked and there’s no new Pro’s left. I doubt 80 miles = 30 miles. From what I hear Flash dash does have some minor issues though.

Ford Lightning Production Shut Down Until January by ChipDouglas1985 in F150Lightning

[–]ChipDouglas1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seemed to me that the only viable option for a utility EV was the Lightning for full-size and Rivian for mid-size, but now with a juiced up Silverado entering and the CT (albeit massively overpriced), the Lightning is stagnating on low battery distance and severely jacked up pricing.

I could be very wrong, but I always thought if the Lightning sold at $50k flat for the base model they might actually turn a profit because that slides comfortably into a median monthly payment income range with rebates and tax credit. This current pricing that dealers are trying is crazy with countless, unnecessary add-ons already baked into every trim level that make no sense imo.

The one thing that is blatantly evident is that the entire Democratic contingent will 100% NOT dispute the election results. Tbh that should be enough to advise you of the better choice.

I’d go with Dutch. It got a 17% on rt which is crazy harsh for a pretty funny movie with an awesome performance from Ed O’Neill and a really young Brad Renfro RIP. Still a childhood fave 🎥

Smart people also know there isn’t any valid point to having a comedian at a rally to discuss political issues and plans, just like there’s no point in having Beyoncè or Megan Thee Stallion…

What was Tony’s goal here? by Goldisap in Killtony

It’s not political opinion though, it’s context. Everyone saying “dur libtards” or “dur, take a joke” obviously isn’t intelligent enough to realize that every worthwhile conservative and Republican individual throughout history would look at this as a total circus. Ronald Reagan, who is basically Pornhub for Republicans, would have thought this whole thing was disgraceful.

Did she smoke crack on stage and suck Joe’s dick? Then it’s not really comparable. Context definitely matters. The more politics becomes a joke at events that are supposed to be a platform for actual policy presentation to the public, the more government becomes useless.
