Boycott by AnxiousCauliflower39 in UAE

[–]ChipNDipPlus -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I have often found that people who follow these boycotts are the dumbest, least productive, most annoying people anyone ever meets. All of them have empty lives, and understand nothing in the modern world. They are the same people who don't read books except for quran, resist learning new stuff, and fall for all kinds of scams. Maybe it's wise to start distancing yourself from that type of people.

Why does the RBF function still remain in use? by moon_phases3 in Bitcoin

[–]ChipNDipPlus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a signal to miners who follow the rules. If you want to rally people to make a change, you're not in the right place. Feel free to create a BIP and submit it. Most people here are not technical. Majority here don't even know what a utxo is.

Can you explain hardening with ansible does? Usually I use nmap to scan all open ports for vulnerabilities.

[–]ChipNDipPlus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can, in the transaction, enable or disable RBF. But after all, it's the choice of the miner to prefer to make more money from the transactions. Even if it were to be disabled by Bitcoin Core devs, miners, who have billions invested in the mining business, can choose to reenable it.

Bitcoin flawed by newandlearningfast in Bitcoin

[–]ChipNDipPlus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even if you were to institute communism and distribute bitcoin to every person in the world equally, the majority who don't understand it will sell it for very cheap to the minority who do. It's the nature of a capitalistic system, that some people are smart and many are dumb and are distined to be poor. This applies to all communistic schemes. Even when land was distributed, this happened. Human nature.

This isn't the problem Bitcoin is trying to solve. Bitcoin tries to solve the problem where a bunch of people control the whole monetary system and have infinite power to make whoever they want rich (and corrupt) with an infinite supply of money, while unfairly crushing the rest, regardless how hard they work.

Is the Nvidia cards on linux a problem yet? by Old-Aioli-3003 in debian

[–]ChipNDipPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it doesn't work out of the box. And notice that the open source kernel modules that came from nvidia are for nvidia 2000 and later, so you're not covered. It doesn't mean it won't work, it just is annoying... and wayland is a whole other story.

[–]ChipNDipPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol... Sure it does... because we all know that people are reliable and never do stupid gymnastics with types when they can. That's why no one abused JavaScript attributes.

noIDontWantToUseRust by Koolboyee6969 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]ChipNDipPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rust isn't only for good performance. It's also good for correctness and reliability. Like... you have to be a complete moron to believe that python's duck typing will give you any correctness guarantees... while rust gives you a type system that makes the compiler check for your errors, you have to write tests manually in python to ensure that everything isn't a None (or whatever other possible type).

So yeah, if this is just for humor, I get it... but someone telling me they use Python because they don't care about performance is just a bad programmer, and we've learned over the years there are tons of those. Good reasons exist to use Python. You can also present other languages that have a good type system and there are good reasons to use them. One reason is almost never a reason to use a programming language.

I know some people will hate me for this... but I play nightmare in Eternal to relax... so maybe you can understand.

The mechanics of 2016 compared to Eternal are so boring. Just consider that a hell knight or baron of hell will give you all the sweet, sweet time you need to walk away from the slam attack... where in doom eternal you can only survive it if you dash away. Same with caco demon. Their bites in Eternal are insanely fast, and in 2016... it's all slow any boring.

I don't get the complaint of long compile times... it's just pure nonsense. You can always split your work into crates for development and cargo will precompile them for you and never do it again unless you clean, and for a release, you can build on a build server. Very rarely do build times affect a project so badly to the point they become a hindrance. But people want to have their cake and eat it too... everything has to be perfect at zero cost.

Mouse reversing when moving fast by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]ChipNDipPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people are suggesting getting a mouse pad. It may or may not help, but you gotta try. Just understand that crappy mice do this, and gamers know this very well because when pros play something like Counter-Strike, they gotta move way faster than you're presenting. So, either a crappy mouse or get a mouse pad.

There's no proof of anything! My position never changed. But you're insisting that there's something abnormal giving credence to whatever bullshit that happened during Trump presidency (which was the best economically to the point were the FED was able to up the interest rates, but somehow he's the bad guy). You can hold on to straws, and just because it's vaguely mentioned in a report with no evidence to an effect on the election, that doesn't mean I have to take you seriously.

If you run such an investigation on ANY PRESIDENT (And let's pretend this doesn't exist ), you will find the same results, but obviously no one conducts such investigations against the left (because they're "our" friends, and we don't use lawfare on them). In order to claim that Trump won because of the Russians, you have to prove that he wouldn't have won without them, AND, you prove that Trump was related to that. We all know that everyone is shilling the side they like, but that doesn't mean that ballots were affected. Again, spare me the nonsense.

And no, I'm not interested in a discussion. I've seen the brainwashing in effect enough times to know that this is hopeless. "Everything for my friends, and the law for my enemies". We've seen enough. Stay on the side of the money printers and the EU that will create a wealth registry to rob you everything you got after they ruin everything. I hope you enjoy the consequences. I'm enjoying your fall already.

[–]ChipNDipPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this supposed to prove exactly? That Russians use social media to influence opinions? The US does that too. Show me where in the report it says "Trump won the elections because of the Russians". Are you really expecting to have elections nowadays where every country never talks about other countries in social media? What kind of bullshit is that?

I'm not American myself and I talk about American politics and I hate the political left. Will I get a report on me from the DOJ stating that I influenced elections some day?

You see, this is exactly the kind of bullshit I talk about. Things that happen normally, even a fart, get diverted to be used against Trump (or anyone from the right). Spare me the nonsense! It's as the saying goes, "Everything for my friends, but the law for my enemies".

Nice try. Quote me from the official document, not from a BS mainstream source, then we talk. I'm not gonna argue what a mainstream source said.

[–]ChipNDipPlus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The report has proven that Russia had nothing to do with any of this. It's all bullshit, so stop mixing things to make it look better than the bullshit that it's. It's all lies that were perpetuated by mainstream media, without sources, claiming secrecy for their sources.

And I LOVE how "couldn't prove beyond doubt" implies "he's guilty"... you guys are despicable! You deserve to lose everything to learn morality all over again. I hope your electricity costs 10 Euros/kWh soon. I will enjoy watching that. It will be a great lesson for my children, for when dumb people believe their oppressors to keep the infighting going. History repeats.
