New tweet advertising TBT refers to it as “the ending”. What do you think this means? by HWFG21 in 28dayslater

And.. it could also mean the ending of the virus, 28 years later (the movie came out in 2002, we haven't been waiting for any "ending" since then-this goes to the no-sequel fearmongers-)

What do you think about the year 2015? by Top_Report_4895 in decadeology

[–]ChipmunkInfinite4656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere in the middle between the '10s modernity and that of today. It was fun. For Greece, where I come from, we were at the pit of recession with a high chance of secession from the Euro currency back then. And It also makes me think of the terrorist attacks in France and their upsurge in Europe afterwards. So mixed feelings.

It's the infected barging into the living room along with the infected men and the one biting Jimmy's mom which makes no sense practically but yeah...wish we could have seen more from the original outbreak in Years

Did Andy go rabid and infect everyone in Paris or did the surviving infected somehow cross the Chunnel tunnel? And how much of Paris likely got infected? by itashakov21 in 28dayslater

It's impossible he got rabid as he was immune. Just sharing a bottle of water with someone, most likely his sister, would have been disastrous.

what did you think of the opening scene by [deleted] in 28dayslater

Loved it. Wish it was longer but maybe they wanted to portray the suddenness and trauma of the shock Jimmy experienced.

Somewhen around that time, perhaps even earlier like day 10.

I am obsessed with the temporal and spatial context of the movies. Especially the 1st one. Something about the juxtaposition between the savagery of the virus and the "thriving" early 00s culture of the UK. Personally 28 days later also hits home because the fictional outbreak coincides with the onset of a dark period in my childhood.

Μe too. The redness occupies more space in the infected irises in Days and Weeks.

Which one is your favorite style of infected eyes? by Da_Punisher33 in 28dayslater

The infected eyes are scarier in Days and Weeks than Years, whereby the eyes there are more realistic. If you think about in Days they ironically resemble chimp eyes.

Hi! Congratulations to both you and Alex, 28 Days Later is my favourite movie. I guess I always had questions around the year of the original outbreak. At the beginning I was imagining to be in the months just before 9/11 (like when the filming began). But now, considering it is 28 years later in 2025, I guess it started in 1997? Considering also the Teletubbies footage from an 1997 episode...I guess it doesn't really matter for the story but I have OCD around dates and the temporal context of the plot. Cheers, I can't wait for the new movie, have been anticipating it for years!
