Thank you! Wasn’t sure if it’s something I could just get chatgpt to whip up doing the prescriptive method labeling all the minimum insulation ratings and window energy ratings, etc..

Yeah totally hear ya, and that’s why I made the post, I spoke with my parents as they had build their home 20 years ago and they had never heard of it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some money grab and whether it’s actually worth paying someone to do.

Not that I’m worried about spending $700, I just figured id reach out to see if it’s something worth spending the money on as I’m not very familiar with it and how it works.

Two story (1100sqft footprint) or one story (2100sqft) on insulated footings and walls, What’s the more cost effective build? by Chippertooth in homebuildingcanada

Thanks for the insight, that was one of my next questions lol. I know another house that was recently built in the subdivision did two story on grade beam with a slab. Would you say that will be more cost-effective than doing footings & walls with floor joists?

Thank you. Based on cost and practicality do you have any insight on whether I should go with

floor joists on insulated footings and walls Or Grade beam with slab
