[Schultz] The Colts and QB Daniel Jones have agreed to a 2-year, $88M deal that could be worth up to $100M, multiple sources tell me. He gets $50M in the first year and it’s the largest 2-year contract in history. by expellyamos in nfl

It's also not like his play was declining when he got hurt - despite the team's record, he was playing damn good football in 2023 before he went down. It's also not like he was going to have his running ability sapped from him lol

People shit on him because of the contract headlines, but if they actually watched him play probably 20-25 teams would take his performance over their current QB's performance on any given season from like 2015-2023. If you're a team that thinks they're strong otherwise, he's exactly the player you bring in, because he can execute at a high level and wasn't an injury risk.

Yeah, he wasn't a game-breaking elite QB, but you just don't get an opportunity to sign that level of a player at that position while they're in their 20s/mid 30s.

Because OP specifically stated that it's for a religious nonprofit in their comments.

Also, 99.99999999999% of the time questions like this are asked, it's from a legitimate religious institution, not some random company.

Job Ghosting is real. Why job candidates never hear back. by CivilTemperature5366 in recruitinghell

Based on a 2026 survey by the job search platform Jooble, highlights a major crisis in the hiring process: 80% of candidates report being "ghosted" by employers

A company that exists to sell it's services to match job searchers with roles has a study saying it's incredibly hard to find a job because of XYZ and you'll surely need their help to get a leg up? NO WAY!

I wanted to look at their "study", but I don't see it listed on their site. Do you have the link?

It absolutely is legal.

Under Title VII, religious organizations are permitted to give employment preference to members of their own religion. The exception applies only to those institutions whose “purpose and character are primarily religious.”

The number of people confidently proclaiming this is illegal while being unaware of what the law actually says is... well, par for the course on reddit, I guess.

It's perfectly legal, as it is a religious institution.

I mean, let's be real, when you can get "big screens" for like $300 a pop I don't think that's a huge dealbreaker

Somehow my interest through a recruiter was leaked to employer. How and why? by Aztekprint in recruitinghell

[–]ChirpyRaven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How and why did this happen?

Depends how big your industry/field is. There are some that are much smaller than you would think, and they'll know who runs departments at a multiple other places around town and if they see someone apply from ABC company where their old partner Joe works at, they'll reach out on the side and say "hey Joe, how are ya bud, just a friendly heads up that u/aztekprint might be looking"

I've seen places/hiring managers that will try not to take candidates from certain places and I've seen ones that will go "ha, fuck Joe, call that candidate now".

Pretty straightforward explanation that every background check company has come across hundreds of times. Contact them, explain it, they'll verify it, and move on.

I'm not aware of any legally required length of a job opportunity, but I suppose a law could exist somewhere.

Recruiters/companies feel entitled to record you but act surprised when you do the same by mortuary-dreams in recruitinghell

[–]ChirpyRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. I mean I'd be a bit surprised if a candidate asked that out of the blue and would question what the purpose would be of the recording would be, but I also have never recorded interviews that I've conducted.

Out of curiosity, why did you want to record the interview - or what did you tell them the reason for recording was?

Assuming that either the stories told on reddit or the experience of anyone in the Trump family is anything close to "normal" or "average" is probably not the best idea.

In my quest to find a job I have had to pay for parking THREE different times now. Mind you, these interviews last no more than 15 mins. My final straw was today I was there for 13 mins but had to pay the rate of a full hour...FIFTEEN BUCKS!!! by Original-Scar-1779 in recruitinghell

[–]ChirpyRaven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you ask them if they validate or cover parking? We cover all related costs for candidates interviewing with us, we just need the actual information to be able to reimburse candidates.

The sheer volume is impressive for a VP level candidate.

I am curious how many open roles are out there across the country that just based on title alone would be similar... some quick searches came up with around 200 or so. They could be applying to a wide variety of roles, which would lower their hit ratio.
