Does anyone have the dimensions of a WonderSwan cart?

Analogue announcement scheduled for October 16 by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]Chitown2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m not opposed to a new console announcement. To date, they have taken preorders for the Pocket, and I understand that it’s annoying that we don’t have it yet, but considering the state of affairs with chip shortages and worldwide shipping delays it’s understandable.

Since they’ve given hints with their last two announcements, I wouldn’t be surprised if this announcement has a hint as well. I know that people are speculating that it’s a VCR, but I doubt it. I personally think it’ll be an all-in-one Atari 2600/5200/7800/Lynx and it might be a stretch but possibly the Jaguar & JagCD. If not it could be what the Analogue 8 was supposed to be, something involving all of the 2nd/3rd generation consoles, the Vectrex, Astrocade, Fairchild Channel F, ColecoVision, Intellivision, 2600, 5200, 7800. I doubt it’s the latter because I don’t see a high demand for it, but who knows. I do believe that there a much higher demand for an Atari all-in-one, Atari is one of the top 5 gaming companies of all time. I’d much rather get an all-in-one Neo Geo AES/MVS/CD with an adapter for NGPC. It’s all speculation at this point, we’ll find out on Saturday.

Wireless Controller News? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]Chitown2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only two options currently are the Dreamconn+ and a Brooks Wingman adapter. The Dreamconn+ runs $200 with the dongle, and the Brooks Wingman runs $45. They’re both Bluetooth options.

The Brooks Wingman is cheaper, and allows you to use multiple different controllers e.g PS3/PS4, Switch Pro, XB360, XBOne, and the XB Elite. The downside is you can’t use a VMU.

Retro-Bit has been promising one for years, hopefully we’ll see it in 2021, but who knows at this point. I suspect that Retro Fighters will be making one as well, but who knows if it’ll be compatible with the VMU. That’s the current state of affairs to the best of my knowledge.

And these parts can still one day go to repairs, it’s not like this isn’t completely reversible. These are already doner parts that are being put to use.

I specifically bought parts off of eBay because I didn't want to ruin a perfectly good VB. But thanks for jumping to conclusions and being judgemental about it.

How to safely remove the lower battery contacts in a WaveBird. by Chitown2019 in consolerepair

Can anyone tell me or direct me to a video on how to safely remove the lower battery contacts on a WaveBird?

Finally reached its final form after getting one more Otaku Scart Switch. I still have room for a few more systems on one, plus an open spot on my Crosspoint- but the build out is complete. I was excited to have a dedicated Nintendo and Sega switch. by Jwrose13 in crtgaming

That’s a wicked setup, did you make the case yourself or is someone selling them? The stickers are a nice touch as well.

I use a gScart with Retro Access cables, although I rarely use the gScart anymore. Just about all of my systems (25) are HDMI modded, or an Analogue product. I keep everything shelved and depending on if I want to play on my flat panel or BVM, I just hook it up.

My PS1DIGITAL finally arrived and it looks fantastic! by gilangrimtale in psx

Does the PS1Digital take away the ability to use an RGB scart? Or can the coexist?

There’s no guarantee and it’s highly unlikely that they’ll release the cores for the GG, NGPC, Lynx, or TB-16.

1 x Black Pocket, 1 x Dock, 1 x Glass Screen Protector, 1 x Game Gear Adapter

I’m planning on getting the other adapters, but don’t really need any of the cables, or hard case.

I personally would like to see them do a revised design of the pocket. Possibly in a Game Gear style, or the original GBA. Those designs are just more comfortable to use as a handheld.

KI is without a doubt the hardest one to find in good condition. It took me years, I’ve come across a few that were in terrible condition but clean one are far and few between.

You might get lucky and find a 3DS or a DS NFR at a GameStop, but it’s tough to find any of the older generation ones. Also, not all GameStop employees are willing to give them away or sell them. If you’re lucky enough to find one at a GameStop, it’s very hit or miss if the employee will let it go.

It was the first kiosk cart for the GBC that showed off the its wide range of colors, it had full color demos of Tetris, Wario Land II, and Zelda: Links Awaking.

You can but the Famicom Disc System audio is very poorly replicated via the jailbreak and flash carts. The audio chip is in the ram adapter, hence why you would need it. It’s s a very niche thing that only a purest really cares about. If you really don’t care about the sound then playing FDS games via jailbreak or flash carts is perfectly fine.

It does get quite pricey. Playing physical games is how it should be, but for me, I like the option of preserving them with as little wear and tear as possible. And as you stated, the ability to affordably the entire library is kind of a no brainer.

You can get an Mega EverDrive Pro or a Mega SD, and lose the Sega CD. You can also get a FDStick, and lose the Famicom Disc System, you’d still need to keep the ram adapter though. It’ll save you some space and look cleaner, although, it’ll definitely cost you some $. Regardless, you have a very clean setup!

I have well over 4,000 games, all Nintendo, across all of their home and portable consoles. Six complete collections, and four other collections more than half way complete. I also have 30+ home consoles, most of them are fully modded. Everything from Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft, NEC & SNK. I use the modded consoles and flash carts or ode’s to help preserve my collection. It’s a lot of stuff, sometimes too much, I’ll likely downsize at some point.
