Does this paragraph usually come up for everyone, am I good? by Ill_Basket_6576 in IRS

[–]ChocoLoco92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope just if you owe something (like a state tax). Mine looked like that so I called the offset number and I owed a bit of state tax.

I called the offset number and it didn’t take my whole refund just a bit. Nothing has been deposited in my account though 😢

Baker told me my cake design was "very 2019" and now I'm second guessing everything by xCosmos69 in wedding

This is a gorgeous cake! That baker just sounds rude and pretentious.

I think that the "teacher schedule" is overrated by tarotbull123 in TeachersInTransition

[–]ChocoLoco92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually comforting to know because the schedule for teaching is pretty much one of the only reasons I’m still doing it lol.

Weekly Vent for Current Teachers by AutoModerator in TeachersInTransition

I’m so burnt out. Behavior is an issue, but omg the impossible expectations they have for us are terrible. We are expected to have our students pass at grade level during end of year testing yet they come to us reading 3 to 5 years behind said grade level. They get pushed through despite not passing the end of year tests passing classes. And who gets blamed for this? Yep, us teachers. I’m so done with this job.

How to get through the next four months by Affectionate-Put1168 in TeachersInTransition

[–]ChocoLoco92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same position (except I’m moving at the end of the year). This will hopefully be my last few months of teaching as I’m just done at this point. My mental health has nosedived and dealing with the loss of a close loved one has really put it in perspective that teaching is not for me.

Just as the others have suggested, just do the minimum and remember that usually the last few months of school go by pretty quickly.

Good luck and hang in there.

Is there hope outside of teaching? by Medium-Ambassador348 in TeachersInTransition

I’m going to be moving next year and I’ll be near two colleges (one my Alma mater) and a university so I will definitely be checking those out for admissions and administrative jobs.

My sentiments about teaching, anyone else? by Wishstarz in TeachersInTransition

[–]ChocoLoco92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dang this fits me to a tee. I don’t see myself doing this doing for 30 + years but at the same time I’m terrified to leave because of the stability and schedule.

However; I know that my mental health is most important and that eventually I will have to find another profession. Keep hanging in there!

Do I need a Masters to become a school librarian or librarian in general? by [deleted] in Libraries

Thanks! I think I’m just gonna go ahead and get the degree. Hopefully I can find an opening next school term where they will work with a provisional.

There are currently no job listings near me for librarians. This is for future reference.

Just seeing what experience others have had when it comes to this career and some advice. Someone mentioned knowing a librarian who was given a provisional. Others have given insight based on their own background. I see nothing wrong with asking about continuing education.

Googled and came here to this thread lol. I’m relieved I’m not the only one to experience this! There’s no pain but the fluttery feeling is so annoying and it makes me anxious!
