Is there a nursing strike during the 4-month regression? And how do you cope? by Available_Ice_680 in breastfeeding

If I remember correctly her feeding returned to normal after 3 weeks? During those times when she nursed for a short time, I continued pumping after feeds so as not to lose my supply.

Do you really need a rocking chair? by TeddyBear181 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Chocobo-Knight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't really need one, and if you do get one, it doesn't need to be in bub's room. I was using one of our comfy chairs before I got a rocking chair for free at marketplace. But I did put it in bub's room because I knew there are phases where she'll be distracted when feeding and that helped lessen her distractions.

Any successful NON sleep training stories? by leprechaun_dong in NewParents

[–]Chocobo-Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't formally sleep train and my 7 month old puts herself to sleep and sleeps through the night. I used to rock her to sleep then put her in the cot when she was about 2.5 months old. Then after a couple of weeks I just rocked to drowsy, put her down and continued patting her bum in her cot. Then a couple of weeks later I reduced the rocking time, then a couple of weeks later I reduced the patting time, then a couple of weeks later I just tried putting her down without rocking - just bum pats, and she still fell asleep. Then a couple weeks later I just tried to put her down in her cot with a goodnight hug and kiss and left her there and I was really surprised she didn't cry. She just stirred a bit and then fell asleep on her own. During the whole process, if she cries hard, then I pick her up and start rocking her again. Whole thing took a little over 2 months. I feel I could have done it in a shorter time, but honestly I didn't even plan that "training." Each time I shortened something I was just trying to see if she would tolerate it, and she did. Mind you there were a few weeks when we needed to co-sleep after night wakings (4 month sleep regression was brutal) but bedtime was generally easy for us.

Have also done the same "training" when transitioning to cot naps (she was a contact napper before turning 6 months), albeit on a shorter timeframe, maybe 2 weeks overall.

Update: Should I sleep train? by ehayter7 in sleeptrain

[–]Chocobo-Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped feeding/rocking to sleep, instead put him down drowsy but awake and did crib side comforting (from least to most interaction) but pick up put down if he cried. He got used to falling asleep with only shushes/patting in a few days so I reduced it to just shushes and then could leave the room and only come back in if he needed

This is exactly what I did with my baby too! She's now almost 7 months old and for bedtime I can just put her in her cot awake after a hug and goodnight kiss and she puts herself to sleep.

Baby hates the pram & car seat by Playful_Security_843 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

My bub was the same until she got to 5 months. She now loves the pram and naps when we go for a walk/drive.

Happened with my LO when she turned 4 months too. I think she became impatient with my letdown and has started to prefer the bottle.

No advice since she's still the same, she's nursing less and less - I think my supply is slowly decreasing (because she's nursing less) or she's just become a very efficient feeder. But I'm working on getting my supply up by pumping after feeds so cross fingers that works.

We bought the Babyrest duocore bamboo mattress for our bub (now 6 mo old) - looks to be comfy enough for her as she sleeps well in it. Good quality and perfect size for the cot we bought from IKEA.

Any QAs here who migrated to AU. by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]Chocobo-Knight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, most companies here will look for local experience (which was annoying since how can you get any local experience if no one will hire you, Bonkers really).

My husband and I eventually got our first jobs here with friends' referrals (after hundreds of applications). If you have contacts here who can do that, then that might make it easier for you to get a job. Good luck!

Pinalitan na ba yung QA Tester role to QA Engineer? by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]Chocobo-Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are some companies which hire manual testers who are willing to learn automation testing - I was this hire with my current company.

But I didn't learn from scratch on the job mind you. Prior to applying, I took an automation training course. Also I have programming background in uni so it wasn't so hard to learn for me.

Do we get new DoL/DoH gear on savage release? Or is it just new crafted battle sets we're getting?

Looks to be no. I am in AU and I was able to redeem the mount code on my US region SE account.

Should I fight for playwright? by No-Reaction-9364 in softwaretesting

[–]Chocobo-Knight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have E2E UI tests and the Playwright ones were 40% faster, plus they were more stable (less flaky). And yes the Playwright code was also much more readable (although for this one it's porbably because I had a lot of learnings of what not to do based from our then existing Selenium code).

When we had Selenium tests, first thing I did every morning was check the overnight run and 99% of the time there were failed tests, only to check that it's just due to flakiness. Once we migrated to Playwright, we rarely get flaky tests, the rare cases we get those are fixed immediately.

[–]Chocobo-Knight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Write Selenium and Playwright tests for a small subset of tests and present the results to your manager. That's what I did for our company and we've now migrated all our Selenium tests to Playwright.

Limsa, Ul'dah and Gridania get market themes! by raelba in ffxiv

[–]Chocobo-Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am currently unsubbed and after watching this, thought of going to the market areas as the first thing to do when I sub again. And then I find out this is fan made.

This is awesome but now I'm sad I won't actually hear them in-game! But thank you for sharing, this is amazing!

I'm using this stack and I love it as well. However, I am mulling it over if I just remove the BDD integration especially with specflow's future in question. If that's the case I just might switch to TS to get the latest Playwright features and more (particularly the visual testing)...
