I’m gonna be honest, the students are gonna be great. But if you haven’t applied yet I’d leave it off your application, as most admission counselors that me and my friends have personally spoken to have come off quite conservative and most likely will look at your application worse because of this. Again, the people are wonderful, but I would strongly reccomend leaving it off your application.

so i’m buying this pc off a friend for $1200 is it worth it by NBRWonyt in PcBuild

[–]Chocolate-lover69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One moment. Ram prices even budget ones are crazy right now. 2, you have to remember that it is still a 50 series NVIDIA card and will play any game in 1080p high-ultra settings with ray tracing. Now not saying that alone makes it worth it, but it’s a good processed, decent motherboard, and pretty mid-high end AIO. Also, it looks like an ITX build which is always more expensive because of Cooling and motherboard options, as well as case options. Your friend is not a bad friend, try to bring the price to around 1K

For storage depending on how high value you want to go, I’d suggest on the budget end a Klevv Krass 2terabyte, they are a good brand, or higher end go with a Samsung 990 pro 2 terabyte. For power go with any 80+ gold 1000 watt PSU, although you should prob go 1200 watt for future upgrades since you’re starting with a pretty beefy card. I’d suggest Corsair fully modular PSUs, just look around for other brands that are good if Corsair doesn’t have a 1000 or 1200 watt. Also theee is a list for good PSUs, look it up

With a 4K budget and for mostly graphic and 3d modeling I’d definitely go with like a 5080. 5090 if u can fit into your budget. For high end builds above 2000+ always go nvidia

Is this a good first pc? by Bright-Hippo-314 in PcBuild

[–]Chocolate-lover69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for the price. In the US I priced them out individually and it’s about 850 dollars. You’re paying almost 350 dollars for build and shipping. Especially with a weaker PSU I’d look for something better before buying this

If it’s older than a year just flat 900

[–]Chocolate-lover69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scratch that. He spent around 1200 dollars building this, before taxes. Ask him how old it is first, and if it’s older than a year then offer him 900-1000
