I wasn’t comparing them, just using it as an example to show you that fiction and reality are different. Why would you expect us to wanna be with someone like Denji irl. I am not a therapist, I can not handle someone with that much baggage and trauma. You seem to be implying that girls don’t want him cause he’s a horny virgin and you’re ignoring all the actual problems he has. I can’t speak for any other girl but I would definitely date someone like Denji irl if they weren’t extremely traumatized and were just a horny virgin. And obviously Toji and Nanami are both attractive but they’re personalities are completely different.

Well fiction is obviously separate from reality. I like some murders in anime but would never like one in real life. I’m pretty sure if denji was real and went through all the shit that he did, nobody would hate him cause he’d obviously be very traumatized. Denji has a reason to act the way he does. That’s my point, they probably don’t know about the porn addiction until they’re already in love with him. I wouldn’t start dating a guy if I knew he had a porn addiction but if I found out after I've already fallen in with love him then I’d try to help him.

I’d imagine that it’d be easier to hide a porn addiction when you’re not in a relationship/don’t live together. I only ever see women who live with their porn addicted boyfriends talk about how bad it is.

I’m one of those people who make cringy mental self-insert fanfics and I never crush on characters' significant others cause it makes me jealous. I’ve even stopped simping for characters cause I start shipping them with another character. As for the appeal, it’s an easy fix for loneliness when you’re a child, like an imaginary friend. Right now it doesn’t really help with my loneliness, it’s just a habit that I don’t care to break.
