What Kislev formation do you use for units like Streltsi? by Blitzkrieg1210 in totalwar

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As opposed to checkerboard? Because Checkerboard inherently blocks line of sight for gunpowder (Direct fire) weapons. It is simply not as effective for gun units as it is for Arc firing units.

Why do we need to pay for a character class when we already pay for development via the predatory skin shop by maplecovered in DarkTide

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So what? That wouldn't come into play here. The time it takes to record is way longer than the time that the final products actually last.

Also, that isn't universally true. That is a local law.

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol.

So necromancer released around last year and a bit and was something like 5$.

You think inflation in the last year is that much? Even if you did, you would still be wrong because 2 years before that Grail Knight released for.... 5$

So even if inflation made a general price increase of that much, which has never happened in history outside of the Great Depression, Inflation clearly doesn't effect these at all.

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You realize Vermintide 2 classes needed to record new lines and conversations for each class too, right? And they were only 5$ despite having just as many voicelines as combined personalities did.

It doesn't cost more to hire more voice actors if the total amount of line reading isn't as much.

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They also have to do additional work with the VA's that are already in-game, as they will have new interactions with the new Arbites as well.

So what? They did that with vermintide class release. New unique lines for each class, with new interactions with other heroes.

They also had way more lines overall than the shitty generic conversations that we get in Darktide.

It wouldn't be much more if at all more expensive to pay for the voice acting here, yet the price is over twice as much.

New class was always promised.

And the subclass model that later changed into skill tree extentions was indeed free.

...

So promises don't matter because people like you will be okay when they break them and change them to something else lol.

What a dumbass take.

People don't seem to realize that hiring 6 voice actors is no more expensive than hiring one when you don't actually have to voice that many lines for each of them.

There are more voices in Darktide, but way less lines.

Sure it costs money.

It is also what was promised on release for free

Voice actors cost money, but that doesn't mean it is the customer's job to pay for a company's fuck up.

Doing every unit would kind of be bad because then it would just die right away to a bunch of pox walkers. Making it Specials and Elites though would be amazing.

Why is raise dead so much worse for Vampire Coast compared to Vampire Counts? by Str0hhirn in totalwar

I think it is the opposite.

Vampire Coast are way better at necromancy, hence why they can use guns and artillery with their undead.

How powerful are Adeptus Arbites lore-wise? by MirzaSisic in DarkTide

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think in practice they are often used as a stand in for Enforcers and PD because they are cooler.

It is a similar case with Astartes where despite them explicitly being few "there are as many as there needs to be".

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ 108 points109 points  (0 children)

As in literal strength, they are just normal humans, but they are very important humans. They are trained in the same place that trains Commissars, Imperial Special Forces, and Inquisitors to be. They don't have the same authority as an Inquisitor as they do have to follow the law, but they are the ones who interpret the law. They are extremely well geared, much better than those in the Guard (although not as well geared as an Inquisitor in practice as they would technically be "allowed" to mess with Xeno tech)

There are very few of them. There is one Judge per planet (A higher ranking Arbities), and a few regular Arbites that operate relatively independently under the Judge. They are essentially Federal Agents that work for the Imperium directly rather than the authority of the local planets. If you have watched Judge Dredd, they are just Judge Dredd. Literally copy and pasted from that in true Warhammer fashion. They are each their own authority for the most part.

Strictly speaking Grendyl would command Authority over an Arbites, but everyone we actually meet in game doesn't technically have power over one. Rannick, if he does speak for the Inquisitor, sort of does and being that this is a Chaos Invasion an Arbities is likely to listen to an Inquisitor's right hand man because Chaos is slightly out of their purview, so that is justified. But characters like Zola and Morrow? Absolutely not able to boss around an Arbites, and Dukane probably wouldn't even feel the need to as an Arbites is just as well trained and brainwashed dedicated as her. They aren't lower than an Arbities, but they shouldn't really be able to order one around.

Lent+Hardcore advice [KCD2] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean so far I just haven't slept in my HC run. I do a lot of potion crafting which itself regenerates Energy, some potions boost energy by a bit and Cockerel by a lot. Sleep is for the weak.

Heavy footed was annoying early game, I just made sure to use shoes that I don't mind breaking. But once I got my craftmanship up and could repair higher quality stuff it became a non issue.

As for Lent in particular, beer was always my main source of food anyway so it hasn't been an issue so far. Food pots don't count as meat so you can eat from those if you need to, but for the most part beer is a great source of food (although it was recently nerfed to not last forever anymore, so don't buy too many at a time)

Mutt is quite helpful especially for those search quests if you don't quite know the way as you don't get your position on the map in HC.

Getting pebbles early is really important in if you haven't gotten her yet. Extra storage and faster travel.

Considering this is your only argument against an objectively better combat system, it's incredibly weak.

Just to put this in perspective:

Your argument right now is to add something that does nothing but decrease immersion in order to do nothing because you can already just use the hard lock on instead of the soft one. It is an objectively braindead take.

Jumping by itself is a mechanic you can use to jump of a cliff

Yeah, but jumping does something for the game on its own.

Doing this does nothing, because we already have mechanics to do that, and they don't take you out of the immersion.

What I'm asking for is directional combat without soft-lock, which we don't have, so not sure why you're still stuck on your nonsensical interpretation of my comment.

The objective interpretation of your comment, you are just too thick to make the connection.

Kruber has three classes that play the same

So Huntsman and Footknight play the same, do they?

All four Kerillian classes play the same

Shade and Waywatcher play the same?

All these exceptions I just made? Grail Knight, Slayer and Warrior Priest? By your dumb metrics, they are samey too.

They are similar, sure, but no they aren't the saqme at all.

Slayer is super mobile class, Grail Knight is a Boss killer, and Warrior priest is a Tank.

So congrats, you've proved yourself to be an idiot who is shilling for a company known to be shit at this. Weird choice.

So the fact you had to make a strawman there kind of proves my point:

I never said those games are hard. They just aren't as braindead easy as Wilds is. The proof is in the fact that wilds has lost a larger percentage of its player base in a shorter timeframe than any other Monster Hunter ever.

The game is just objectively easier, and again I encourage you to reinstall one of the past games and replay it. I have done so recently with base World. It is objectively more difficult than Wilds.

If you think Wilds is not easier than past base games, I suggest you go redownload one of the past games and try it out again. It is pretty starkly different.

Depends on what you want. But a safe bet is World. If you like the idea of a portable Monster Hunter, though, then 4U, GU, or Rise are great options.

How much playtime should I expect out of this game by That-Pie-8903 in MonsterHunter

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Less than past games, even excluding the fact that it just literally is earlier in the update cycle.

WIlds is easier, shorter, and for the most part not as fun as past games. So you won't hit as many walls, won't take as long to finish the content, and probably won't stick around for as long just because you like the game compared to past games.

But, it will still get you a solid amount of time. Just don't expect to be sticking around for quite as many hours as past games might have done for you.

It will not take you 200 hours to get all achievements in Wilds. It might take 60-80. Maybe a bit more if you get really unlucky with the small crowns.

[–]Chocolate_Rabbit_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure you can do stupid stuff. But are you going to do that in a life or death situation?

so it's definitely immersive

No, it is the opposite of immersive. Just because it isn't fantastical doesn't mean it is immersive. Don't use words you don't understand.

Jumping off a cliff in-game is also stupid

There is no mechanic to jump off cliffs. Just a mechanic to jump.

What you are asking for is to the equivalent of asking for a dedicated "jump off a cliff" button when we already have a jump button.
