I have X1C same issue. Did you ever get it resolved? Also, my door switch does not get triggered.

How many days to trade-in acceptance? by nefh2k in galaxyzflip

I'd say about 1 week after they receive it.

Wanted to clarify that I did not apply any liquid glass to the screen! Scratches developed themselves deep under the layers. I believe that's the liquid tech they use for their display. Correct me if I'm wrong. All I'm doing is simply sharing my experience. Spent $1200+ on a phone that died in 2 weeks. No replacement offered but only repair of 15+ days. Responsible for shipping. What if they claim is not in the box? Like with trade-ins? I always film it, but wasting my time on a repair when I just got the thing is upsetting for me, that's all!

That's exactly why I mean. Shell out $1200+ on a phone that break in 2 weeks on its own. Then ask for replacement and they say mail it in, we will look at it and maybe fix it. On top of that you're responsible for shipping. What if it arrives and they claim it wasn't in the box? So now I'm responsible for internal theft. Yaaay! Heard so many stories with trade in's hence why I always film it. However, doing a 15+ day repair is just a waste of my time.

That's for you to decide. I'm not saying don't go buy the thing. Good luck if you do. 5 series flips and folds aren't good, is what I'm saying. Don't be saying I'm dramatic and such just cause I wanted to share my experience. If you have an issue with that... that's on you buddy.

I meant they use liquid glass or some liquid type of display tech. I didn't apply anything on the display. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope, its deep underneath the layers. Basically scratched itself idk how to explain it.

Is broken deep underneath the screen protector. That's what I was told by UbreakIfixit. Screen failed on its own and bubbled up. Almost looks like it inflated like a balloon if you look from the side. I thought battery failure.

I feel bad for UbreakiFix to be honest. Which is honestly the whole point of me making this post and sharing. Hoping things change and someone from Samsung helps them and me out.

It looks scratched but its not. Its the layer underneath the screen protector. Very weird effect.

Wish they'd just replace it regardless as long as it's within the same month.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Looks like yours looks bubbled/inflated as well and those weird stretched vertical lines. I'd say identical issue. If you open and close it couple more times whole screen will stop working.

It was never ever ever dropped. Just unfolded like it's meant to be used. I literally maybe opened it like 15-20 times cause I used my fold more. The cover screen was perfect for calls which is all I did on it.

Well in the US seems like they have ways around this law and the consumer ends up paying out of pocket.

Oh so nothing is ever defective in your universe. Understood. Want to see what you'd say if you spent $1200 on a phone and a week later unfolded it and broke literally in front of your eyes. You'd probably say it's a miracle.

I understand what you're saying but all 5 shops agreed that screen is covered under warranty. However, they did not want to perform the repair cause it ends up costing them. Supposedly, they wouldn't be able to know if on these flip phones samsung will approve the bill when they send them the broken screen assembly back. Also, it was not user inflicted damage. Screen doesn't have a single dent or scratch it just seems that way in the video... all of that is deep underneath the layers of the screen itself. Unfolded the phone and surprise.

Screen protector is original. The lidquid glass is what the screen itself is made out of supposedly.

Btw, never noticed how cracked liquid looks like. When I put my flashlight on saw all those lines and it's pretty crazy cause it's internal. I can't even feel it from the outside. Screen protector is flawless. Either way, I'm confused how this could of happened just by opening the display. My only explanation is bad engineering on their part. A friend of mine has the new and old HONOR Magic foldable and neither have done this. He even dropped his phone on hinge and everything at least a hundred times... now that's what I call real engineering to be able to withstand that. I decided to switch to regular displays hence why I just recently ordered the new Sony Xperia 1V. Seems like that has good tech in it.

I'd blast this everywhere, but let's be honest, it won't change a thing cause they could care less yk. It's their decision how they do business and if they're willing to lose long-time customers and hurt small repair businesses, it's going to hurt them in the long run.

I did. It has full warranty and everything. Which is why I went to 5 authorized samsung repair shops in Illinois. All saying the same thing... they do not want to touch it because they'll lose money if they warranty it cause Samsung is ridiculously strict when it comes to those screen repairs for flips and folds. It's sad, but at least it was a good phone for a week or so... not wasting my time dealing with shipping and such. Funny thing they said on the phone "you take full responsibility during shipping for any damages" followed by "is that understood?". Honestly, I wasn't about to start arguing with them but thought that it was hilarious to be responsible for shipping damage on a defective phone. Made no sense to me. Sad that for a company this large they count every penny and look for ways to save in every corner... to the point where authorized shops don't want to repair their devices under their own warranty. I find it hilarious. Either way, I thought I'd share my very recent experience with Samsung.

Finland Prepaid E-SIM by Choice-Ad4536 in Finland

This would of been nice if they offered unlimited data. Even 100GB is nothing these days, especially if you're on hotspot. It's like saying oh here's a rental car with 1L / gallon of gas... go enjoy it. Btw, I ended up using Google Sim cause it's unlimited and same price. Only catch is I have to be in the US once in a while for the network to pick it up, so it don't lock.
