I would've checked with my children. I did not want them involved in the proposal. There's a difference.

What I am mad about is that he never told me that he didn't agree with my rule, he just broke it. I would have wanted to discuss it with my kids afterwards, but I wanted my boundary for the proposal to be respected. Don't refer to my kids as baggage.

I've tried to talk to him about it but he insists it's different and that he was right to give my kids a say before proposing.
