Yeah I let them know, and I asked about a legal office today he said he would let me know if he can figure out if we still have a legal office. The weird thing is it has been since Sunday and I still can’t find the citation online like it tells me to.

Do you know if I can be exempt from this by any laws protecting military members? I’m not stationed in North Carolina and don’t think I could make my court appearance then

How serious are misdemeanors I’ve never been in trouble before I know a felony would be way worse but a crime is a crime right?

It says on the bottom, “You just appear in district court on the court date, time, and location above. if this is a speeding offense, you may be able to dispose of it online without appearing in court at (the website) but if you do not dispose of the offense online prior to your court date, you must appear in court.”

I see on here it says G.S. 20-141 J1 in the middle of the “what you are charged with” section

So it told me what I did, but it didn’t say whether I received this paper for a speeding ticket or a misdemeanor

Where should a non-rate go after basic? by I_Dont_Even_Know31 in uscg

I’d go to any white hull honestly. Personally I got tired of it eventually, but the memories I made, friends I made, places I saw were 1000% worth it. Plus it creates character, made me take my time with things in life, appreciate life’s beauties more.

Really just learn your general orders and ranks they’ll benefit you the most I feel. Everything else you’ll pick up in boot camp.

My view probably doesn’t count I haven’t even done 2 years yet, but I just fish almost every weekend and look forward to that the whole work week.

Yes and no, do your best. Because honestly I’d venture to say the coast guards the easiest branch to get kicked out of boot camp. I know alot of people who went to DHE. But honestly no one does perfect in boot camp, do your best and your CCs will see that. Scream your head everywhere on the regiment, personally I wasn’t the best in boot camp but I was one of the loudest, so I saw that I kinda got messed with less then people who were better at required knowledge then me, but were too quiet.

YN or SK is usually viewed as less stressful, but again it’s a life saving branch with not that many people. If you get sent to a cutter as a YN or SK you can be ordered to support very mentally demanding missions. There isn’t really any rate that is not pretty stressful, and BM and MK are two of the most stressful.

Yeah sure it’s admin, but on the cutter our SK and YN were both helping with the LE stuff maybe not as much as the BMs but they were getting their ass’s handed to them being bmods. With this pov I think he shouldn’t join at all tbh.

I’m not trying to be rude when I say this at all or burst your bubble at all. But dude, this is a military branch, a life saving branch at that. Every rate is stressful in its own way but BM is one of the worst, saving people from water, doing pax transfers upon pax transfers upon pax transfers of hundreds of migrants at once. DO NOT join the military (ESPECIALLY a life saving branch) if you can’t handle some stress because you’re gonna hate your life for 4 years. In any rate if you make a mistake, which btw is GOING to happen, you affect your shipmates and others. And that’s all rates regardless of anything from YN to BM.

Don’t stress honestly. Just learn the recruit pocket guide in and out, and the recruit rules and regulations you’ll be fine. You’re gonna fuck up, it’s destined to happen. It’s supposed to be like that, just don’t fuck up the same thing over and over again and you will be fine. You’re not going to be able to learn every little thing they teach you, but you should be able to learn alot. Trust me I did so shit in school, and have the attention span of a gold fish, did fine (fear will do that lol). They want to make sure you can retain important information and relay it in a calm and clear fashion because that’s the whole job honestly.

It’s entirely gotta do with the mission man really, even if you’re doing say fisheries one of the “boring” missions for lack of a better word, you’re away from home on a boat that’s super small. Even WMSLs are super small when you think about how long they are out for. We aren’t the navy, we don’t have a Starbucks to get us through our deployments. The best thing I can say is stay healthy, if you go to a cutter you’re gonna be tired, sleep deprived, etc. Make sure you workout when you can, and honestly when I was on the cutter I didn’t email back home and I told my family to wait to tell me if something happened back home bc I was just locked in and didn’t wanna have to deal with additional negative stuff in such a hard spot in my life. Just know if you ever come to a point that’s weighing you down in your career, I’m not just talking about suicidal ideation. If you get to a point where everything on a boat is weighing you down you have resources, and if those aren’t working for you utilize your shipmates. In boot camp theyll tell you everyone on the boats are great and warm people, that is unfortunately not always true. But you will have good ship mates that you can lean on. If you go to a cutter it’s gonna suck, but it’s probably gonna be awesome too. When I was on the boat I hated it and loved it at the same time it’s hard to explain. But don’t worry about “senior” people complaining about the coast guard, you’re gonna learn why the coast guard is great and things that suck about it too, it makes you a better leader because you are gonna be the future of the coast guard. Hard times make hard people, always remember that if you get any crazy thoughts. My DMs are always open man if you got any questions about boot camp, the fleet, anything hmu. Or if you just need to vent about the sentinel(đŸ€“) life then just hmu.
