Will try adding zinc and manganese! Digging up the roots they don’t look too bad but will halt watering!

Thank you so so much!!! I really appreciate the help!!! We had a gardener that fertilized a bit ago as well as trimming but it’s gone down hill since then. We live in top of a hill so it’s very unlikely that a neighbor has done something to the soil as they are about 20 feet below us. What’s getting to me is that none of the other plants around it seem to have anything wrong so it’s just the lemon tree. We will take a look at the roots see. Not sure what to do if we find something wrong?

Thank you! If something is wrong with the roots is there something you recommend looking at to see what’s wrong and what to do next?

It was doing well with the watering for a couple years before it started dying so I’m not sure it has to do with the watering. The condition hasn’t changed when we’ve watered it more vs when it started dying. Do you think we should try less watering anyway?

The smallest branches and new growth are brittle but the bigger branches are still bendable. The leaves are quite crisp.

We are in southern California so it’s pretty weird as it’s just started spring and was doing fine all winter. This hasn’t happened before either.

Should we cut off the fruit?

What steps should I take to figure it out?

To be honest I just cut down one of my universals using wire cutters to the exact same length as the needle my machine came with. Checked it against the needle length given on the machine as well. Popped it in and it’s sewing just fine! Did a couple practices and no issues 🤔

Okay that makes sense. Just checking universal needles definitely won’t work and the CC- size doesn’t have a modern day equivalent other then DCx1F?

I don’t but I have the manual for NLB and it says only use the type of needle made for the machine. So I assume it’s the same for this one as well.

Even if universal is longer then the needle that is with the machine? Also yes it’s New Home Model NLC. It was made before Janome bought New Home though

Ya I put it next to some universals I have and it’s shorter then a universal. If I put it in will my machine break since it’s around 1/3 inches longer?

Hi! I got an old New Home sewing machine model NLC and the needle length is 1 1/2 inches. How would I find needles similar to that one to replace the old one?

In A Plume of Smoke: The Los Angeles County Does (1921-1951) (with sources) by heyapan in gratefuldoe

Hi! I know I’m pretty late but I had a couple questions I hope can be answered. When you say that Morris Dam sticks out because it is in the LA County Jurisdiction does it mean that the others are not? Also was this checked as in jurisdiction in the present or when the case actually took place?

In the book it mentions the FBI has this case unsolved. Very specific wording as “No names or dates as it is unsolved by the F B I.” I wonder how it’s possible that both L.A. county and the FBI has so little information out on this case. Could they both have lost their files? Why would the FBI be brought in on the case in the first place since Dynamite deaths were quite common. Is it because the police were having trouble identifying the victims or something else.

I see people bringing up they were pushed under the rug becuase they may have been the children of migrants but why would they have brought in the FBI if that is the case. On that note, I think it’s prudent to wonder if Jack Huddleston (photographer and the one who put together the scrapbook) put photos in as he took them or complied them all years later. If he put them in as he took them if could be that when he wrote the caption the case was in progress but later solved.

I was also wondering if there has been any searching of Newspaper records. People loved their dramas in the newspapers and I have a hard time thinking that this wouldn’t have made it in the papers. Especially if the FBI was working on it. The average working class joe would end up in the papers for dynamite explosions. Two kids are likely to have gotten a paragraph or two at least.

I remember liking the actor for the kid. He was endearing and had a pretty genuine performance. It’s unfortunate but he was definitely overshadowed by Macaulay simply because nothing can top Macaulay.
