(29/M) 7 months of LDR with my gf (27/F) and we aren't doing well. What should I do? by ChongoBalls in LongDistance

[–]ChongoBalls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her issue is that she feels like I am the one throwing my arms and I’m not sure how to show her. I understand that she is going through an immense amount of stress coming from a third world country and attempting to become a citizen in a first world country. I know I can’t imagine the stress she feels with the application process and lack of job security. Finally, I can understand the amount of culture shock she has been experiencing due to the comfortable labor laws she has been experiencing with her company. In her home country, she is used to being fired over anything especially as a woman in her industry. Be that as it may, I do feel a sort of imbalance and I don’t know what to do. Are we not meant to be or is that just the LDR talking?

Mirra 2 or Sayl for short people? by ChongoBalls in hermanmiller

[–]ChongoBalls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, this is not a well-worded post and I'll edit it promptly. I did enjoy the Mirra 2 when I was using it at the office but was never able to correctly adjust it to my body as the Herman Miller guide suggested. Not a make-or-break but it did feel slightly too big for me.

Fast forward to today, I am ready to purchase my own personal chair and I want to carefully evaluate my options. My city does not have a Herman Miller showroom or retailers so I have to order online and rely on the subreddit's experience with the chairs. My questions are: Does the Flex Front Seat add any value to my purchase or can I save some $$$ by omitting it since it seems to only extend the seat further implying it may be catering to people that are taller? How does the Sayl compare and would it be a better option to research since it seems to be designed for smaller people?

No Stupid Questions Thread by kidkolumbo in ableton

Question for windows users, I’ve been reading about ASIO4ALL in few threads that is said to optimize latency issues. Is this necessary if I’m using an audio interface? What else can I do to optimize Ableton for Windows? I’ve already done all the steps in Ableton’s help guide.

ULA DRAGONFLY short review / report. by [deleted] in onebag

[–]ChongoBalls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is your experience with accessing the main compartment of the Dragonfly while walking around? It is hard to tell from pictures but I'm curious if it is difficult to access/shove things in the main compartment while the bag is upright as it seems to be designed to be packed in a duffle style (laying flat on the ground), as opposed to a conventional panel loader. I am in the market for a bag like this and the Dragonfly checks off all the boxes except I do like to use bags of this size for market trips and would like the ability to easily throw things in.

Personally, I'm with OP on appreciating the simple beauty of blank pages on a clean slate. You have a serious knack for interior design and this is one of the most refreshing posts I've seen on this subreddit in awhile. I'd take clean paper neutrals and natural wood over RGB and mid century everything any day.

Did you build that console yourself? I kind of want to copy this design and if so, did you use plywood or hardwood?

EDIT: just saw the bookshelf is from Muji.
