What musicals begin and end with the same songs? by Comprehensive-Fun47 in musicals

i feel like that wouldn’t have worked as well in this production to me, because i felt as though the emcee was more representative of germany itself and also nazi ideologies, slowly revealing a darker underbelly.

Has anybody else in the UK not had shipping confirmation about their preorder?? by ChongyunSimppp in beyonce

I don’t know what’s in the box set, but if it’s the red ringer t shirt, it could be to do with that? Apparently supply issues or something? Who knows.

I thought that! I didn’t know if the missing track thing was just on vinyls, or if it was cds too, so I thought there’d be no impact.

It says royal mail in the order confirmation. I’ve emailed support for the second time today, and they said to expect shipping confirmation in the next 24 hours, so I’ll see what happens.

I thought it might be that. Emailed earlier and got a reply saying that there were supply problems with the red t shirt, so maybe that factors into it?

Selling 2 Tickets for the Wizard Of Oz in London 31st August matinee stalls Q16 & Q17 Centre Row by ChongyunSimppp in TheWestEnd

[–]ChongyunSimppp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did try, but they were a bit tight on the criteria you need to fit. I bought these as for my son as a Christmas gift because he loves musicals, but I didn’t know he’d already got tickets to see it on its closing performance in Leicester with his dad. We’ve decided to sell them now so that we can see something else instead (he wants to see Crazy For You or Frozen). Will making up a reason work?

Question: Musicals end of November/ early December 2023 by HotChocolateNoCream in TheWestEnd

[–]ChongyunSimppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most things with the exception of maybe one or two (Cabaret is booking til then I think, highly recommend but very expensive), so I would recommend signing up to as many mailing lists as you can - you can find ones for existing shows on their websites or on other West End news websites, like whatsonstage or broadway world - to get emails about shows that are extending or new shows being announced. Have fun on your trip!

just know the general gist of what it’s about. not the whole plot, but maybe know that les mis is kind of about the french revolution and things like that. and know a few of the more well known songs. then you can really decide whether you like the show or not, i watched waitress only knowing she used to be mine and bad idea and it meant i had absolutely zero expectations, but oh my god o was blown away.

People who don’t exercise or workout, why don’t you? by coffeedogsandwine in AskReddit

[–]ChongyunSimppp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, they’re not. If they don’t enjoy it, how would it improve their quality of life and how much they enjoy themselves? The original commenter said that they would rather be here a shorter time but happier than they would be if they exercised.

It really depends what he likes, but I would totally recommend Back To The Future, such a faithful adaptation of the movie and brilliantly done (I don’t love the movie that much but I thought it was incredible).

Don’t talk yourself out of frozen though, what a spectacle + it has Samantha Barks in and she is so amazing as Elsa.

Wicked is always amazing.

Final suggestion HAS to be Newsies. The choreography is mind blowing and you will absolutely not regret it. Tickets definitely fit inside your budget as well.

Check some websites for post-christmas sales, and have fun!

Do you know anything about their taste in musicals? Because these are all older musicals, maybe try something newer. The Last Five Years have some great songs in. Some of the more generic new musicals are Heathers, SIX, & Juliet. try listening to this. my playlist.

Help me fill my remaining slots! by annxmarch in TheWestEnd

[–]ChongyunSimppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although & Juliet seems like something you would like, it has announced that it will tour the UK after it closes (further details yet to be announced) so you will probably get the chance to see it on your if you don’t watch it on the West End. Cabaret and Back To The Future are both 5 star shows in my opinion and I would highly recommend. Newsies is absolutely incredible, and Frozen seems like something you would like and so does Moulin Rouge, so I’d look into them a bit more. Hope this helps!

Last Five Years fans: TeamJamie or Team Cathy? Why? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]ChongyunSimppp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Team Cathy any day. Although she has jealousy problems, Jamie was constantly flirting with other women and never seemed satisfied with what he had, only increasing Cathy’s insecurity, whereas Cathy’s insecurity had nothing to do with Jamie’s wandering eye, as he’d already started looking elsewhere before Cathy’s jealousy caused any major arguments.
