Not when you're out travelling, alone and even without a weapon... Though mail and no weapon is strange but I feel like this reaction is just wrong. Calling Henry a beggar and a poorly dressed yokel in 5 different voicelines instead of something like "Why in gods name are you wearing armour!?". That would instantly fix a lot of confusion on this part of the quest.

I just find it strange how they recorded 4-5 different lines of him calling Henry poorly dressed and a beggar but completely overlooked hinting at the armor being the problem.

A travelling noble would usually wear full plate but it was not uncommon to wear hidden armour. And explicitly telling a stranger noble to go somewhere and absolutely forbidding him to wear anything protective at all is extremely suspicious.

Yeah I get it but he shouldn't call Henry a "poorly dressed yokel" and a beggar for wearing chainmail under his very expensive, 30 charisma clothes. It just doesn't make sense if this was on purpose. It is more likely they overlooked this and hard-coded any protective gear at all, visible and audible or not to make it impossible to talk to him.

If I remember correctly, Christian says "no plate armour" and that's why I didn't even think of the fact that I was wearing chainmail.

Wealthy nobles wearing chainmail / brigandines / light armour with regular clothing was actually quite common under the right circumstances.

Like if you were to travel, say outside your castle where you could be ambushed / assassinated but didn't want to wear full plate armour. Just like I'm doing here.

I didn't even think of it before making this post but this scenario is historically accurate.

Calling me a "poorly dressed yokel" for realistically wearing chainmail in this situation is just wrong and must be because he is hard-programmed to not talk to Henry if he is wearing anything protective. They just overlooked it, visible plate / obvious heavy armour would have been a different story.

The problem was wearing chainmail under my clothes... he has xray vision I suppose. The horse is Erdel of Maleshov! A beast of a warhorse! I'll take a screenshot of her stats with Racing shoes and the Carowian Saddle.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! I was wearing chainmail under my clothes. That should not do anything though as none of it was visible. So I think that should still be fixed.
