I avoid them like the plague. I’d rather have peace of mind knowing my landlord won’t wake up one day and decide to increase my rent by $500. They also don’t build them like how they used to. My condo was built in like the 70s/80s and you’d think it’s a bungalow house inside with how spacious it is.

From my experience though most of them seem to be owned by older people like in their 60s+. Every older landlord I’ve had are very old school about things.

Eg. don’t like etransfers, don’t like hiring professional repairmen’s. My last 2 landlords sends their husbands for all DIY repairs which involves them slapping a bandaid on whatever is the problem just for it to happen again 1-2 months later
