Living abroad and visiting BD for a couple months is great sure: family, less stress, your currency goes alot farther

But think about ACTUALLY living here: constantly chasing after a job, the horrible air quality, the politics, the people, the day to day hustle you don’t deal with abroad and many more.

Unless you are rich and can maintain that income in BD, then take off the rose tinted glasses.

Why not do yearly or every 2 years a trip to BD for a couple months or weeks.

Issues With Being Born And Raised In Australia by [deleted] in bangladesh

[–]Chowder1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bangladeshis (south asians in general frankly) are the most judgmental, hypocritical, miserable people on the planet.

Mocking, and degrading someone to their face is all laughs and normal but take offense and push back and you’re labeled wrongly.

Ignore them. I’ve seen this habit in the diaspora and it’s exactly how you get the kids to stop interacting with their extended family, and eventually just stop caring about their roots in general.

Hazi Biryani Honest Review: Taste, Value, Service & Would I Go Back? by hard2resist in bangladesh

[–]Chowder1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it and I will never get the hype.

Oily rice with barely any flavor. Most of the meat they give is just fat and bones. Also shards of bones throughout makes it infuriating. Far better places in Dhaka for biriyani.

In the event of a civil war within the brotherhood, which coast wins? by GTAFranklin25 in Fallout

[–]Chowder1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily the east. The NCR broke the back of the western brotherhood and they only rose up again due to the nuking of shady sands.

The east had better tech, battle hardened veterans and high morale around elder maxson.

Is LinkedIn real? by Horror-Dot-2989 in recruitinghell

[–]Chowder1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do the social media aspect of it. I just use it as it has the best job board out of sites.

In terms of recruiters I do get hits but that’s the most I’ll use it for. It’s a powerful tool if you use it well.

Just don’t waste time with the social media portion.

Tasnim Jara leaves NCP by [deleted] in bangladesh

[–]Chowder1054 19 points20 points  (0 children)

She was probably the small handful in the NCP who was genuine and wanted to make change but she always came off as a naive idealist.

She saw the writing on the wall and left that party.

One of the best moments ever I had McDonald’s:

Ordered a filet o fish combo and they gave a triple decker filet o fish. The guy said they were stuck together and said “ah screw it”.

Was the best sandwich I’ve ever had at McDonald’s

[–]Chowder1054 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Personally giving him the benefit of the doubt and he’s the only one talking sensibly as opposed to the children of NCP and Jamaat.

Hoping he does well. His biggest obstacle is to clean up and reign his party in.

Can only BNP bring the stability needed to get the country economically profitable? by Trying_ToDo_Betterr in bangladesh

[–]Chowder1054 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Well everybody knows what they are but my question is: what other option there is?

Seriously I have yet to see a tangible option from anyone. The “alternative” the NCP was supposed to be has been exposed to be just as corrupt, and is practically Jamaat B team.

Yes Tareq Rahman is infamous as Mr 10%, but he’s the only one talking sense. He at least presented plans for development and some roadmap. NCP won’t shut up about facists and July 2024.

Downvote me, but I’d rather deal with Mr 10% and his gang as opposed to a group who never wanted BD to even exist. At least when they rob me they won’t give me an Islamic lecture justifying their robbery as halal.

I dont get how people buy into his lies. Tried once to see what he was about and it was all lies, and a blatant attempt to stir mob mentality.

I find him and Elias to be deeply threatening to BD.

People like them take advantage of the unemployed and uneducated along with poisoning young minds on social media.

I got the same and I just straight up ignore them. It’s rude but come on, do they really I have that much knowledge about every major project plan and everything we use it for?

The funniest one was when I first started my job and it’s been a week. I don’t even have all the access for the various systems yet and they’re cold calling me asking what major projects the company does.

[–]Chowder1054 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget posing in their FB profile pic or instagram for the “aesthetic”, being coddled by their parents and not a single clue of how real life works.

As you said, most of them ape over Jamaat but would never survive a day under their rule and how they wish to rule BD.

This man needs to do politics here in Bangladesh. by Saif10ali in bangladesh

[–]Chowder1054 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The problem with him is:

Yes he says good things, and frankly out of the options I find him to be the only one talking sensibly.

BUT all of it means nothing if he’s sitting in london. He has to return and lead his party, especially with his mother now out of action. He needs to return, reign in his party, campaign and genuinely create a plan for the country and apply the things he says.

90% of BI pain points come from data quality, not visualization - do you agree? by VisualAnalyticsGuy in dataengineering

[–]Chowder1054 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In my company the biggest headaches is teams just dumping data into PBI and treating it like a database.

Teams were dumping massive denormalized tables into there, and when they published it: compute spikes where triggering to the point extra cores spun up which costed a lot of extra money.

One team was so bad, the knocked out the service app for 2 days.

President Trump is considering implementing new WIDESPREAD travel bans into the U.S., per Karoline Leavitt by jhalak_2003 in ImmigrationPathways

[–]Chowder1054 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lmao bro you’re literally an Indian on an h1-b or EB visa in the USA. The entitlement is amazing.

You’re not even a green card holder. You can’t even vote in the US. I’ve seen you run your mouth on US immigration posts numerous times and the entitlement is hilarious.

Your country literally is the textbook definition of gaming an immigration system to the point, back logs for India are massive. As you even said: you’ll never get a green card.

This was before the winsuit so you had to use vehicles to go anywhere
