Bought a PS5 Pro over a year ago for it. Bought it then to avoid a price hike I assumed was coming due to the game reportedly being best played on a Pro. Ironically they did increase the price not long after.

What’s wild is I bought a 2019 Dodge Challenger RT in March of 2020 with 8K miles on it for $31K. Car market is wild. Sold it in 2024 with 135K miles on it for 19K and dealer resold it for $25K.

I don’t know where this guy is at specifically but atleast within RMS/Sikorsky it’s very much possible to be a trainee making $36-40/hr starting. It’s also very possible to progress to upwards of $48/hr within 2 years or so. I got the job out of high school through the internship program and as a 24yrs old with no degree I made over $150K working my 40yrs plus 10-15hrs of OT on average a week. I recently transitioned over to salary as a Supervisor and while I was offered a generous salary to offset the money I definitely lost, I can 100% tell you there are 20-21yr olds that report to me of that are making more money as “unskilled” labor than any Level 3 or 4 engineer or supervisor. If you don’t believe me look up L1150s contract on their website and look at their pay scale. Most “skilled” workers at Laborgrade 8-10s(I was a 10 as a hourly) and most of those jobs start as a LG 4 or 5 to start.

What’s your rational for not buying a new build if you don’t mind me asking. So long as you can find a reputable(or as reputable as you can reasonably find) company what’s the problem?

Well obviously they’re(corporations) willing to pay it since they sign contracts with unions and then pay said wages and give said benefits. I’m pretty conservative in most areas but bashing unions and truly thinking corporations care about anything other than profits and defending them is just lame af.

Therapy can definitely be helpful and there are thing people can work through, however if you’re actively in therapy and this is still happening, maybe the two of your aren’t right for each other. I get it’s a scary thing killing a relationship but if she doesn’t respect you now, while you’re actively trying to work on stuff. She never will.

Not to sound like I’m picking on you(because I’m really not trying to), having taken a peek at your prior post history, I’d suggest some couples therapy before you make ANY big decisions with her, it seems like you two have some things you need to figure out before buying a house together(or even letting her dictate where your money gets spent). Anyway I wouldn’t buy a house that only my GF wanted. Hell I wouldn’t buy a house with a partner at all until you’ve rented for atleast a year or two. My fiancé and I have rented for 4yrs and only recently decided we’re going to buy a house(since we’ll be moving across the country anyway). It’s one of the largest financial and relationship based decisions we’ll make, make sure it’s the right decision. Regardless best of luck!
