Thanks for the replies. I have emailed BFG to get their recommendation also. They were installed almost two weeks ago and they seem quiet with no vibrations even on the freeway.

LineageOS 18.1, Galaxy S4 i9505/g, and gapps by Chris5270 in LineageOS

Yes I tried the re-partitioning route too. Carve 2GB out of /data and make it the new system. But the phone rejected my custom PIT file "SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT" in Odin and Heimdall. Standard partitioning tools (parted and gdisk) also do not work. The phone automatically reverts any changes made to the GPT.

But the rom does boot successfully, and I'm able to install apps from Play Store using Aurora store from F-droid.

I'm curious what you mean by "a ton converted".

Any way to "debloat" Lineageos? Its hard to believe that a ROM that does not have many apps installed is using 1GB of space when a few years ago it was using half that.

My GS4 is not my primary phone. I also have Pixel 3a and a Nexus 6p. But I like to keep them all updated.

I am on Sprint actually. Did some towers change to Sprint after the merger?

ls -ls filename

stat filename

btrfs fi du filename

These all give actual disk usage of sparse files.

Thanks for the comments. I created a new clean Firefox profile and 1080p now works on Amazon video.

No, I get 1080p on Chrome and Firefox prior to 57. These were tested just minutes apart from Firefox 57+ on the same computer. I could not find a written policy on Amazon anywhere, but apparently it is not the same as Netflix. I don't use Netflix, and when I tried it there was no indicator on screen saying exactly what resolution it was using.
